Help / advise please. Is this a bug? hydroponic farm tiles aren't accepting any water from the pipes.

Recommended Posts

Hi I literally just made this farm and was getting frustrated with the water pipes not doing what they're supposed to do.

The water pipes aren't pumping any water into the hydroponic grow beds. I actually deleted a couple grow beds and the pipes started pumping water into the spot where the growbed was deleted. then Stopping again and not irrigating any of the other growbeds / plants. It says 'pipe blocked' on the water pump. The hydroponic tiles all say 'irrigation needed'. But everything is connected the way it should be. It's a really simple water pump straight to farm tiles setup.

Anyone mind telling me whats going on? Am I missing something or is it just bugged? It's not my first time making one of these farms, I've managed to get them to work in the past. I have screenshots of it.
At first I had one pipe going into the 'farm room' and then splitting into 2 at the grow beds. But I tried deleting some of the pipe and just connecting one 'floor' and it still wouldn't work. Super disappointing, I was proud of myself for making this farm before this bug(?) happened lol.

Screenshot + water pipe overlay.

Look at how the water in the pipes just stops when it gets to the farm tiles. ???

oh I think I found the problem. The plants at the top don't actually need water. and the plants at the bottom need polluted water. I'll try that now and post again if it works.

It's not working with polluted water either. I am sad :'(

The conditions for the plants are perfect as well urgh.

Doesn't even work when I make a full loop with the pipes. It must be a bug.

sad face.

Try to empty the hydroponic farm tile, and see if is the same.

Post edit:

After seeing the pictures i can conclude that IS YOUR FAULT. First you put clean water and plant pincha pepper (it need only polluted water), then after all hydroponic accept 10kg of clean water, isn't a surprise that your hydroponic doesn't accept more water (until the clean water is out), so leave the poluted water circuit and EMPTY ALL HYDROPONIC FARM TILE to get rid of water...Then the pincha pepper plants will grow (if you add Phosphorite)

Best regards and before water something read careful what that plant need and at what temperature :)

Connect your tiles individually with pipes.

*can't exactly remember the reason why...but it's somewhere here in the forums.

Also, Pincha Pepernuts require PH2O while Balm Lilies don't.

So don't bother connecting those pipes to the Balm Lilies (they're not consuming it anyway).

The loop is the problem.  Try dismantling all the pipes inside the plants and only hook each plant from the bottom with a single pipe instead of connecting the planter boxes.  The loop you have doesn't seem to have computed that the pipes are connected to the planter boxes and so is pumping continuously without feeding the plants.

Not quite. In this build if wasn't water instead of polluted water, at least the first and second hydroponic farm was suppose to work ant the pincha pepper plant to grow (i suppose that the first hydroponic take all the water and isn't enough for all the plants). But here isn't the case.

This.
I had similar problems with hydroponics not getting water since expressive update (i think). Only solution was to give each tile a seperate pipe input.

For that setup, you have no reason to loop it at all.  Just run from the pump to all the tiles you want irrigated.

They'll fill up and the pump will stop.  Then it will only run when more water is needed.

If you were doing something with the remaining water, then a loop might be needed, but there's no reason for an open-ended loop with the way you're setup.

Here's my berry farms where I do continue a loop (the cooled water is also used as part of my base-wide radiator system)

Hi everyone thank you for the replies. I think it was a bug, I just reopenned the game after waiting a day.

When I load the save the plants are all 'dead' but then they switch to 'growing' 1 second after entering the game. I didn't change anything at all. Yesterday the same pipe network I was using didn't work. Today it's working.

Unless I've missed something?

Just to reiterate, the farm works now but the pipe network is exactly the same as my previous screenshots where it wasn't working.

Here are the new screenshots. (I'm going to delete the second half with the liquid vent now that it's working though.)
