The Heat Is On

Recommended Posts

Okay, so I've been playing ONI for a while and gotten pretty far in. There's a problem I'm having, however. And that problem is heat.

Everything in my base is overheating, and my cooling/AC system worked fine until I reached the surface. It's not meteors (I have plenty of Bunker Tiles and Bunker Doors way up above my stuff), so what's happening, and how can I stop it?

Possibly you are moving surface debris into your base, that's hot

I made a special cooling pool for underwater storage (cooled by a Polluted Water Vent) and all Regolith, Mafic Rock and Iron goes in there and not into the base storage. An alternative is to add central cooling to the base and include the storage area.

make your storage compactors out of abysalite. Done.

Heat from the contained material flows through the air around the compactor and the tile beneath it. If you want to stop the heat flow you need to put your compactor in a vacuum and build it on an insulated abyssalite tile. The compactor itself doesn't matter.

I have the same problem in my last 1350 cycle base...In my new base i will make a storage area immersed in chlorine, whit an AETN that cools one aquatuner, and liquid radiant pipes that cool the storage area in portion. Each portion will be automated by some liquid valve wired whit an thermo sensor.

I wanted to cool it. But since building it magically lowers them temperature, there is no need

I tried that a while ago. Did not work. Has this been changed?

Interesting...I guess they changed it with the isolation of liquid storages?

That doesnt stop it heating up the air on the way to the compactors.

Thats where the real fun begins :D or when those little ************s drop everything when its breaktime...I feel like im handling a mini army of Homers....
