riwenna
I just started working close to the surface, and seems like there's some pieces of dirt lying around my belt of bunker tiles, where everything is very very hot. I have a lot of dirt stored up in my base at nice, room temperatures, however somehow my dupes seem to prefer to go and fetch the scorching one from the surface to fertilize the few mealwood plants I have in my glossy drecko farm. Obviously this heats the farm plots to no end and the mealwood stops growing due to high temperature. All the dirt in the base is in storage compactors, just next to the Drecko farm, sitting at nice balmy 21-25 degrees. Any suggestions? Dracian
I have the same problem, too, though it is less violent since they prefer using the Dirt coming from my Compost, at 75°C. For now, the only way I have found was to create some compactors dedicated only to collect Dirt (With a 6 Priority) and located next to vents expelling cooled O2 (around 0°C). Probably not the best solution, but coupled with some vents expelling cool O2 right under the farm tiles, it works. Hoping it'll help Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/95150-any-suggestions-on-how-to-stop-the-dupes-using-hot-dirt/#findComment-1080728 Share on other sites
riwenna
Doesn't sound too bad. I just made some compactors dedicated only to dirt, and had a mass sweeping action. Putting it all together averaged the temperature... I'll see how it goes from there... maybe I'll play with the jobs and priorities, allow one sweeping-storing dupe to go out of the base and into the storage room, but not into the ranches, and another to go to the storage and ranches only. Hopefully that should allow the temperature to average out until it's needed in the farm plots. But, if it doesn't work and I have to go for a high-tech solution I'll give yours a go I guess Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/95150-any-suggestions-on-how-to-stop-the-dupes-using-hot-dirt/#findComment-1080729 Share on other sites
tzionut
The solution is simple. Make your storage room colder whit radiant pipes and cold oil (oil cooled by an aquatuner) And store there all you want... Saturnus
Build farm tiles from the dirt and deconstruct them. The temperature will reset to 20C. tzionut
Quote Build farm tiles from the dirt and deconstruct them. The temperature will reset to 20C. I consider this exploit cheating...but anyone can play as he want. Sasza22
Just make a compactor set to dirt, sweep only and high priority and put it in your water tank. Then sweep the super hot dirt into there. The water will cool the dirt down in no time.
