How can I reach the content in biological cargo bay?

Recommended Posts

My rocket has come back to my colony, however it seems that my dupe can't get the access to the content in the Biological Cargo Bay.

I want to know what's wrong here. Is my Gantry placed in the wrong way?

Here is the screenshots:

My rocket went to the ice planet and it shows there is one Wort Seed and one Seed Wheat Grain in the Biological Cargo Bay.

But the statistics says that I don't have any Wort seed.5b8a511795bd9_QQ20180901163341.thumb.png.571c714a6351995165f526772697604c.png

And when I destruct the Biological Cargo Bay, the seed just drop to the ground and is reachable. So this shows that there IS a Wort Seed there. So why my dupe can't reach it?

yes but its 1000+ cycles content and very hard to get the resources for the rocket

not really, with 14 dupes and close to cycle 200, i have built my first rocket and a few dupes can soon become cadets.

the lime from fossils do help make steel  quicker.

If you go first for that ship, should be entirely doable in that time. I want water, oxygen and food permanently solved and the map secured fully against space first, so I start rocketry more like at cycle 600...1000.

now i did cheat a bit to stabilize the colony faster (mainly cause in beta the game is so much laggier and i don't like it), but even without that i think i would have had everything setup by cycle 300 at latest.

ofc, this will depend on the seed, find a good geyser early and its easier to set up a stable base fast.

I think the point is rather that if you don't rush to rocket tech just for ****s and giggles, there is really no benefit until very late in the game. You don't get anything your home asteroid doesn't provide already. I can't remember a single run where I was starving for any non-sustainable ressource after just a couple hundred cycles.

true, at the moment, what you can gain from asteroids are rather weak. the only unique stuff you can get is a new critter who farts natrural gas so you can power more generators. but at that time you have enough steel to protect your solar panels, even without stacking them on top of each other, to power a LARGE base. so you wont really need it.

and the critter wants to eat a new special plant, that need liquid chlorine of all things, something that is almost impossible to get other then if you have a geyser and a lot of cooling power. its a rather difficult plant to grow and the rewards i feel is rather underwhelming.

50% of all seeds have a promised chlorine geyser, on top of that there are the random chlorine geysers you also might get.

My current seed has 3 chlorine geysers, just to offer an example.

Making liquid chlorine is rather easy, since chlorine has (if i recall correctly) the lowest thermal capacity in the whole game.

Growing the plants requires sunlight, or atleast 20.000 lux.

Only bad thing i can see is the fact that the moos don't replicate, so you will have to continuously fetch new ones every 75 cycles.

Also i would argue that the sun panels are garbage, but that might just be a personal preference.

i can run almost a constant 4kW power from my panels, only problem is heat from the stack of batteries i need to charge to give steady supply. however, this is with abusing current way that you can stack solar panels, and use the topmost panel as shield for the rest. if/when this gets addressed i would still argue for them being a good supplement of energy.

i have so much power in my current base, that i rarely have my Natural gas generators, nor my coal generators, running.

Wauw, a whole 4kw... impressive...

You could also use bunker tiles, circulate the heat with petrol and run steam turbines with the thermal energy.

i never bothered with the steam turbine because it seems too much of a hassle to setup. and why would i when other power options are so easy to setup and use.

and 4kW is only because its what 1 transformer can give, it would not be difficult to add another, and stack even more batteries and solar panels for the whole 20kW if you truly want to.

Seems simple to me:

Actually it seems more simple then to deal with solar panels, radars and bunker doors.

Nice one, that was the first design of a steam turbine i feel i would possible use. only drawback i guess is the amount of water you sacrifice, but its fine as long as you have it to spare.

still, i feel this is even more simple:

Top solar panels protect the ones below, oil wells wont be built but dupes will go up there to clean away the debris without me needing to order them to. this way i also wont have my panels shut down on me during a meteor storm.

what isn't on the screen shot is the smart battery on the main grid to turn the transformer on when i need power on main grid.

I build this before rocket patch.

You can cool the water with weezes now if you like.

Stackable solar panel looks like hack and make you nearly infinite power. I don't think this will be shown on the official update.

its like this in the current release, not just beta branch.
