Often times I find myself with an excess of some materials/resources, mostly seeds.

I think implementing some sort of a market where we can exchange our excess materials/resources for other resources or items that maybe help boost morale could be very interesting for the game.

I certainly wouldn't mind trading in some mealwood seeds for some briar seeds, you know?

Oh, also... items you could obtain on the market for colonists that improve morale or maybe tools that give a small bonus to whatever job the colonist does. This would require a number (1-3? probably 1 or 2) of inventory slots for each colonist... items may be things like a lucky rabbit's foot, a picture, something mood lifting... tools are pretty simple to figure out I would say... maybe +1 to +3 to their mining skill or whatever... a golden shovel, idk... obviously they don't use shovels though... for the cook, a high quality spatula?

Trading with aliens? Maybe it would be possible lategame but i`m not sure if there`s a point. All the resources you need are obtainable from the asteroid. It would be just a way to get rid of unwanted stuff. Seeds can be composted if you didn`t know, rocks can be crushed for extra sand or fed to hatches. They keep adding more ways to change stuff into a different form.

I`d rather see some sort of transmutation device allowing you to change one element into another like someone suggested. It would be a sort of marketplace if you think about it.

would be like calling a water sieve a market place..... unwanted non gas/liquids you can build a 3 deep pit put a door on it and a box on that put what you want to toss in the box open the door dump the box and dont let dupes in the door. look at the thermal characteristics of the seeds and wonder at how much extra heat capacity you could place on a metal geyser. 3.47 heat capacity almost 10k melting point stash a bunch on your iron vent and watch as it dosnt cool as quickly becasue the seeds are just as hot and take alot to cool off again some things get over looked for their usefulness some things are best to bury
