So I got Oxygen Not Included like 3-4 weeks ago and already have 70+ hours on the game. I love the game a lot but do have a suggestion. There should be like a little "!" that you can mark an object/task with and the dubs will set it as a first priority over everything else. I know you can set sub-priorities to 9 but that doesn't mean it will get done right away when you're over 100 cycles. Even in red alert mode they will skip over something important such as another dub suffocating under a tile that I marked as 9 to remove. It would be very useful for time important tasks such as a dub dying or power restoration.

Long hoped and awaited feature-GO DO THIS **** RIGHT NOW. It would save lives. And thats exactly why you posted it, one of your dupes died because you couldnt get your other guys to dig fast enough.

But its part of the learning process, for the time being. You can q digs and builds that wont kill anyone, or, if theres a chance, just keep an eye on it. Its called experience :)

for the longest time my first games were just outhouse simulators, jokers pissin' themselves, cryin', the lot. Sad excuse, really. My fault I guess, but when you can count on them entombing themselves in any irregularity in a vertical wall to be tiled, or when any 3-5 block tall dig and tile job, in a passageway, ensures someone gets their head entombed. I start to think the game is trolling me. And that maybe, I have better uses for my time, but that's my two cents. The game has some questionable mechanics, but some just don't work correctly.

Sometimes it is just too much to baby them through every single tedious task they do, which I had to resort to doing, too learn the game, some.

Coming from a simcity frame of mind and the freewheeling polluted oxygen approach, which has been difficult to wrap my head around. Then I found out about slimelung, and the germs map...christ. Trying to get these guys to sweep polluted dirt was a nightmare.

AAAAAAAAAArrrrrghhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

Another reason I say this, is I will be turning 50 soon enough, I have less and less time too spend on adorable character antics, and what-not, tough to master undocumented, unexplained issues, problems, and limitations.

While spending hours learning about how these toons(dupes, whatever) utilize the facility while they choke out on co2 can be somewhat stimulating, it's very brief. Patience wears thin. I want the game to move forward. Ten times with the pissy routine, or whatever gets trying. And while I realize that some of this is my own shortcomings, but it's a game and the intent was for me to enjoy myself. I guess it means I get a new game? I forgot I played this like a year ago, and quit when the first round of pissy stuff started, and uninstalled it. To be forgotten.

You need some experience with ONI, but PD or entombed is no real problem so far.
Germs are no real danger. O² is easy to get in many ways.
Sure game is unfinished in many aspects and sometimes i was not happy about some updates, but i stopped to be negative, because i hope for a fun finished product.
I really had fun with ONI so far and we are in the same age ;)

thanks for the response!

Not sure what pd means. But yeah I do like the game.

Not sure what your trying to say in the next sentence, seems the english translation went a bit haywire. So, yeah I'm not here to bad mouth the game, I like it. I hope they finish it, and I'm having fun playing it. So, if that's what you're asking/saying, then sure. Otherwise I don't know what you are saying, and it's great we're in the same age bracket. But, I'm just here to express my opinion, which is what I will do.

It should probably be only available during red alert. All tasks you give them during red alert should defalut to that highest priority and change to 9 when you turn the alarm off. This kind off "all hands on deck" priority would help a lot. Curently the best way to save a trapped dupe is for him to save himself bracause he has no other tasks he can reach.

My issue isn't that they're all dying because of suffocation lol I just used that as an example of a time important task. I'm not so much looking for solutions to that problem, though thanks for the suggestions. I'm just trying to explain why it would be beneficial to the game.

Try have a unconstructive miner build ladders for him to get out.

If that happens i`d make him dig himself out. He can make "stairs" for himself as long as he can mine the rock around. Usually it`s faster than waiting for other dupes to deliver materials and build the ladders.

That remids me: We could use a checkbox saying "Use nearest available resource" so they build the ladders from waht`s around instead of running all the way to your base for sandstone (in case you forget to change it).
