Scale back meteor showers

@BlueLance  pan up to the top, I broke through about 10 cycles back to farm some iron,

I checked it out. This is why meteors should only start a few cycles after you break through to the surface... like that other suggestion thread. It's insane, and this is only cycle 140...

edit: i enabled debug to take a look... two huge meteors and like 5-6 smaller ones active at the same time. There's at least a dozen huge meteors per cycle. This is crazy.

edit 2: make that two dozen huge meteors. or more. The frequency needs to be scaled back a LOT. To a tenth of what it is now, or less.

I agree with this wholeheartedly, my current base is at cycle 950, my poor 8 dupes have been hauling regolith for the past 100 cycles and I have actually started construction of a large-scale build to use the crazy amount of heat in the regolith for pre-heating oil for a natgas double volcano boiler. I have a total of 15 kilotons (that's 1.5e7 kg!) regolith right now and I think there's at least 10 tons being produced every single meteor shower. I have calculated that I need around 800 tons of crude oil at 80° to even consider getting my current regolith below 100°. After that I don't even know what I'll use it for but at least I won't have to store it in a quantum stockpile out in space anymore.

A fix I would suggest is to reduce the amount each meteor produces down to 10% or even 5% of it's current value while decreasing the density of regolith tiles by the same amount, so we still have the relatively decent balance between tile destruction and creation that Klei intended while not having to deal with so much material. Even if the meteors produced oil or dirt or literally anything more useful than filtration medium it would be too much material.

Meteor showers start happening right after you use debug for something, so some cycles after, there will be a pile up to the next planet. But i totally agree. And this is the reason why i dont care about solar panels, its a HUGE amount of dupe babysitting for something SO labor intensive and totally not worth it. For the matter, 2 extra silly coal generators will do much better and will be MUCH cleaner.

There will be changes and balance passes, im quite sure of it. Unless the end goal, when it happens, requires a huge effort to maintain a huge hole on the bloody regolith mess to build something.

But in the meanwhile, they could tune it down some and let us have fun with geeky builds, like we've been doing for a while.

Regolith powered steam turbines are possible, even if not very viable, by the way.
