For anyone who is wondering which fabricated food is cheaper/more expensive, here is table with grams of resources per calories produced

I hope it is somehow readable

Values with asterisk can be halved assuming there is Farmer's Touch provided at all times

So, Fried mushrooms is really, really, really best food resource-wise, and while "overfilled outhouse -> morbs -> pufts" chain works, fully replenishable too

I'm surprised to see that pepperbread needs less water than stuffed berries.

As long as your are using morbs, you can have almost unlimited farming resources. Slime can be used to fertilized, but also, without mass loss to produce polluted water for irrigation and algae which in turn can be used to feed Pacu and get polluted dirt. I'm still unconfortable with the use of morbs for this reason.

Youd need like 30 morbs to be able to do what you are proposing

Morbs spawns about 2/3 cycles from overfilled outhouse.

So, simple system with two outhouses and dropping doors give you about 1 morb per cycle.

So i did my math. If lets say you have 12 dupes eating shrooms, then youll need aprox 3*12=36 shrooms. Times 4 kg of slime per cycle gives 4*36= 144 slime per cycle. 5 morbs are able to produce 30 kg of polluted oxygen per cycle. 1 Puft can convert that to 15 kg of slime. So 144/15 = 9.6.

If there should be 5 morbs per 1 puft, then you need to have 50 morbs to feed your 10 pufts, to create your 150 slime, to ferilize your 36 shrooms, to feed your 12 dupes each cycle

Having 50 morbs is pretty easy. The more difficult is to tame all that Pufts.

You really should do some theorycrafting before say that :

For one Algae Distiller you need :

24 Pufts + 120 Morbs

That gives you 200g/s Algae (120 Kg / cycle).

One Fish eat 140 Kg / cycle Algae.

So you can't do a renewable food for the fish as tamed 24 Pufts is barely crazy.

I already have 200 morbs, but my ranchers seems to have problems to breed the 24 pufts. I don't see any fundamental problem with that though, and I could probably build more puft pens. I don't feed the pacu with a lot of algae, just when I need a bit of dirt. It's clearly not the best way to get dirt.

Still, it feels cheaty since there was no effort needed to have those 200 morbs, and I could use them as a free source of oxygen for my duplicants. The pufts need some effort, so it's feels more normal.
