Major SNAFU
Hi all, I have hot water from a geyser running through radiating piping in a room with Wheezes. I wanted to slow down the water flow through the room so that the water would cool more. However no matte what the flow rate is that I type into the liquid valve, the flow through the pipe remains constant. THis is true even if I specify a 0 gps for the valve (nothing should flow through). What am I not understanding about using the liquid valve? Unless you have debug mode or (maybe) sandbox mode on, you have to wait for a Dupe to come change the setting on the valve. PhailRaptor
53 minutes ago, Major SNAFU said: What am I not understanding about using the liquid valve? There was a change a while back, I think it was Automation Upgrade, after which Valves require a Dupe to toggle them to reach the value you set it to. Check the info panel on the Valve. It most likely says both "Requested value of <what you set>" and "Awaiting Duplicant Action". To make it happen sooner, open your Priorities window and increase the Toggle task (should be 3rd from the left). This is one of the first things I do when starting a map -- change the All box for Toggle and Life Support to the max priority. Lutzkhie
you need to make the liquid valve accessible by your dupes Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/91674-liquid-valve-what-am-i-not-understanding/#findComment-1045734 Share on other sites
landromat
It requires dupe action since automation upgrade. If you want to close/ open went without help of dupe - build automation valve, connect it to automation sensor and change sensor settings Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/91674-liquid-valve-what-am-i-not-understanding/#findComment-1045738 Share on other sites
Major SNAFU
Ah. Many thanks! I thought about it needing a priority, but there was no number associated with the valve so I figured that I had thought incorrectly. eggsvbacon
Worth mentioning, if you accidentally put the valve on top of the pipes and not deconstructing the pipe you overlapped. That can cause problems. (If it joins the same line of piping rather than splitting off.)
