Liquid Valve - what am I not understanding?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I have hot water from a geyser running through radiating piping in a room with Wheezes.  I wanted to slow down the water flow through the room so that the water would cool more.

However no matte what the flow rate is that I type into the liquid valve, the flow through the pipe remains constant.  THis is true even if I specify a 0 gps for the valve (nothing should flow through).

What am I not understanding about using the liquid valve?

There was a change a while back, I think it was Automation Upgrade, after which Valves require a Dupe to toggle them to reach the value you set it to.  Check the info panel on the Valve.  It most likely says both "Requested value of <what you set>" and "Awaiting Duplicant Action".

To make it happen sooner, open your Priorities window and increase the Toggle task (should be 3rd from the left).  This is one of the first things I do when starting a map -- change the All box for Toggle and Life Support to the max priority.
