Initial amount of raw metal has been reduced?

I started new game after recent patch and I'm experiecing severe lack of raw metal yet the colony only reached cycle 91. None of raw metal exceed 5t.

Nothing did particular but only played my own regular way as I did before.

Do the amount of materials are fixed or it could be differ for each map seed?

Random variance based on the map seed. Some seeds have tons of copper, some have very little. Some seeds have tons of algae, some you're gonna have to get electros going asap.

My advice is to go through a few seeds, roll high dig dupes, dig to the edges and see what you have to work with. Reroll until you get something that looks good, then plug it in and start normally. Especially important on the larger map sizes.

I check random seeds with debug first, don't want to spend time building a colony with junk geysers

Is it possible to do that without spoiling oneself on the biome layout? A big part of it, for me, is the thrill of exploration.

Only way I know is make a request here on the forums with a list of what geysers you want.

Other players will search in debug and give you the seed.  You'll know the map will have the geysers you want but you won't know were they are

If someone is up to make a script to upload a seed/map and it process/generate a sheet result with geyser, vent and materials summs :D

I also love the exploration part, but bored to restart after 100-200 turns because it dont contain my needs at all.
Or Klei could include a map maker on the loading screen where you put what you want, and still randomly generated <3

I search it myself. Just start a new map go in debug mode.

If i like that seed I'll copy it, then delete save start new using that seed.
