...that's actually brilliant.  Replace that middle Ladder with a Tile to fit a Grooming Station, and continue the Ladder on the right edge so Dupes can fertalize the Farm Tiles from below, and you're set.

I have some suggestions to improve the design further.

1. Replacing the ladder with a tile enables the farm patch to be expanded to accommodate 8 mealwoods, while maintaining 96 room size.

2. Continue the ladder all the way down. The access can be from below, via a horizontal door, given the room is filed with hydrogen anyhow. It also enables the room to be filed with hydrogen with ease, as the hydrogen will push the other gasses through the door

Are you sure that they are starving because they dont eat balm lily at all? In my observation there are still some pathfinding bugs with dreckos, where they will only try out one plant (if any) even when there are several eatable plants around. (i am assuming you are only farming glossy dreckos, so you can disregard the egg chance bonus from mealwood)

I also noticed that mine only eat from the far right plant and only when they are on the wall XD

it used to be a green house for the mealworm farm had no reason to play with my base cooling when i changed it over still dont really

and alllllll my plastic came from the dreckos lucky me first egg drop was plastic
