Rellimarual
I could swear I’ve seen this in the forums, but searching doesn’t surface it. Is there a console command to keep geckos from spawning from transplanted grass tufts? Kittydub
I think the command you need to place into some files I know nothing about is in this topic: Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/88262-console-command-to-turn-off-geckos/#findComment-1010720 Share on other sites
Rellimarual
Thanks, but that’s pretty complicated. There is a simpler command for turning off disease: TheWorld.topology.overrides.disease_delay=“none” c_save c_reset [hit return after each line] I'm wondering if there’s a similar way to turn off gecko spawning Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/88262-console-command-to-turn-off-geckos/#findComment-1010722 Share on other sites

I don't think disabling gekkos would be that simple unless Klei added in a world gen setting to do so. It's something they really should do anyway. Not sure why people would want to disable these adorable, passive grass generators, but it should still be an option. Same goes for twiggy trees. Although, I am curious, why do you want to disable them? Unless you got a Wickerbottom with a lureplant grass farm, a grass gekko farm is the next best thing. csc_unit
Speaking of grass gecko. I currently try to improve my gecko farm because some of them keep, from time to time, jumping the fence when pushed and it bothers me way more than it should. I know I could do 2 layers of fences with doors and stuff, but is there any other way? Like is there a type of wall that doesn't do that? Or can I just put a layer of hay walls sticked to the fence without any space in between? How do you deal with that? But this is for a solo world I’m hosting on my laptop so I can experiment with different cosmetic mods and try out designs for turf, farms and other structures. I just don’t want the hassle of constantly replanting the grass-tuft arrangements, or geckos running all over the place dropping grass. And even on the dedicated server I rent, gecko farms (the kind with Chester in the middle so they keep dropping their tails) really slow down the game whenever I get near them. My laptop is old and I don’t think it could handle that. As far as I can tell the only thing that stops a grass gecko from clipping through a wall is another wall behind it. And even then I've gotten incredibly unlucky trying to pen them and clipped them through double walls myself on accident. I saw it was also about gekko's and the thing DarkXero posted seemed pretty accurate in that topic. Sorry!
