Repair or deconstruct and rebuild?

Recommended Posts

I have been wondering for some time now whether material is beeing destroyed when you upgrade. Eg. granite tile to mesh tile. Am I wrong that you don't get back the granite or whatever material the basic tile was made of? Same with upgrading basic wire to conductive wire.

I just ran a quick test and the expected 200kg sandstone popped out when a copper airflow tile was build over the top of a sandstone tile.

I have to admit I always deconstruct first out of superstition. Maybe it's OK to build over if there's space for the resource to pop out.

Some of the best fixes of the OU update in my opinion :

  • Duplicants can now dig out buildings that don’t affect locomotion without waiting for materials to be delivered.
  • Increased Atmo Switch pressure switch range.

And

  • Replacing a building should now recover the original building’s mass.
