Attribute leveling change

Recommended Posts

From the patch notes: Broad retuning of attribute leveling to even out the progress between different attribute types and put them on a new curve.

This will take a bit to get used to, takes a lot longer to level up skills now. Noticed it the most in creativity and learning. Dont think I can have 6+ dupes with 8ish learning any more. Should limit the number of super dupes after a few 100 cycles and gives more value to those +2 bonuses:)

Just be thankful you didn't play the early preview releases where there was no attribute levelling up at all, and you got one attribute bonus for holding a job but only as long as you held that job.

This update did change the way I look at new dupes. I was looking for high strength before because it was not possible to level it and it was generally useful. Now it's learning because, although you can level it currently, it's limited by the amount of research (would be awesome to gave, costly, repeatable techs).

Learning also vastly speeds up leveling of other attributes, so it makes sense to eventually get every dupe to tenured scientist trait.

I only get dupes from printer with 5 learning or more, everything else get's oozed.
Start dupes all have 8 learning minimum, and i give all dupes both science tier 1 and tier 2 education. This gives me dupes that end up on atleast 9 and 12 learning.
Later in the game tier 3 scientist is always available, bumping those number to respectively 11 and 14 learning.

Those are just numbers without any stat gain from research. 11 learning is equal  to a stat gain increase of 110%, not too shabby in my opinion.

Might wanna hold on to that statement.

Right now it's more of a educational upgrade, then a occupational upgrade. Since job type does not affect what tasks are done, "job" is more off a title, then anything.

Is it still a stat gain increase? Or is it an job XP/Mastery gain increase now?
