JohnWatson
craft a shovel early to dig up grass tufts and saplings to eliminate the need for fuel, one grass tuft or sapling is enough to fuel a fire pit to its maximum capacity, this will save a lot of time in the long run Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/85986-dont-starve-together-life-hacks/#findComment-988754 Share on other sites
Dreamscape18459
The official forums are probably not a great place to discuss "new" techniques since most of the players here are fairly experienced with the game. To be more on topic (as newer players may find this useful) once bunny huts are up food and healing is never an issue again. Some spiders dens (bonus with Wendy/Webber) mixed in can be a nice source of monster meat for eggs (pierogies.) You will probably want some Pig huts for hambat and helmets (football helmets still useful even with a Wigfrid regular.) and for extending the life of your monster meat. Finally mix in a sanity station or two and dying should never be an issue again. Now the server can really do anything it wants, especially if a Wicker set up a farm at beequeen. Some players like mass farming the entire worlds grass/twigs with a Wickerbottom but I don't care for this as it requires Wicker to play to get these resources. (Outside of tumbleweeds. Can't leave replanted plants in ground for long due to disease.) I like leaving most of the grass/twigs intact so people aren't dependent on Wicker but lots of experienced players like putting these resources dependence on Wicker. (Which she is quite good at.) This strategy also benefits greatly from the reed trap. You could probably do it without one but its easier to mass farm reeds with the reed trap setpiece. Some players also like farming Dragonpies for boss healing as the animation is shorter than pierogie's. The shorter animation makes you less likely to die but players who exploit this are experienced enough to the point the shorter healing animation is negligible. And if you do die life amulets are so incredibly cheap so it isn't a big issue. This also requires Wicker to use most effectively. (She is so incredibly strong and you will probably have one already.) I would personally take pierogie's for healing as they take less effort (and I usually play Wigfrid) but if you want to use dpie's go for it. JohnWatson
there is a chance that you can find the reed trap set piece in a swamp biome reed traps are valuable because it has a tight cluster of tentacles hidden amongst the reeds which can provide you with a plentiful amount of monster meat the problem is that it's difficult and time-consuming to kill the large number tentacles, so some resort to using the deerclops or bearger to weaken them however, the fastest way to kill the tentacles and access their monster meat is to craft a torch and set fire to one of the reeds, and eventually all of the reeds will catch fire and kill the tentacles even when underground this leaves you with a generous surplus of valuable items such as monster meat and ashes, and as a bonus the tentacles also drop tentacle spikes which are used as weapons Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/85986-dont-starve-together-life-hacks/#findComment-988759 Share on other sites
