Bloxxed
Add "Rankine" temperature display setting as an alternative to Kelvin. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/85687-rankine/ Share on other sites
AlexRou
Who uses it? Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/85687-rankine/#findComment-986432 Share on other sites

Besides, why would there be an option to make all temperature units show up in Kelvin? AlexRou
I meant what kind of people uses it? Kelvin is an international scientific standard known to most people who took physics classes. Bloxxed
I can't speak for everyone, but it is easier for me to understand Rankine because I am more familiar with Fahrenheit. AlexRou
If you know Fahrenheit then why not just use that? And why are you avoiding the question? I am trying to figure out what's the group of people that uses it and from that roughly how many people use it. If that group is just you or so small you don't even know who uses it then why should they add it at all? TheScaryOne
Rankine is the Fahrenheit version of Kelvin. 0* is absolute zero on both scales, but whereas 1* Kelvin delta = 1* Celsius Delta so that 273.something* K = 0* C, but 1* Rankine Delta = 1* Fahrenheit Delta so that 491.67 R = 32* F. Alpe12
I've never heard of Rankine till today. But I doubt it would be too hard to implement it, or that this would be resource hungry. So, why not? Not a priority, but if it's easy to implement and devs have the time, make this guy happy. Even for trivial things ... if you started accepting every single trivial proposal it becomes a lot of dev time. There should be a min amount of benefits even for trivial things like these.
