Q the Platypus
Doors are thermally conductive which makes it difficult if I want to create an area that has a diffrent gas mix and is a diffrent temperature without having heat leak in and out from the rest of the base. Neotix
Make vaccum between 2 doors by using 3rd door and done. Of course a little automation is necessary but it's not that hard.

It works, but it's an inefficient solution when an insulated door would solves the problem without the extra headache.
Neotix
More space? Only 4 more tile. It's almost nothing. Power? What power? Doors don't need it. Insulated doors also didn't solve problem because they still will conduct some heat. Why devs implemented automation? To not use it? In my opinion new machines should be added only if something is impossible to build or build it is overcomplicated.
TheScaryOne
What is a simple automation solution to having the middle door open after the other two are closed, but without it breaking dupe pathing?
Neotix
Fast example (probably it can be made better): Plates are set "Above 350kg" because doors weight is 400kg and we don't want them to be activated by dupes.
TheScaryOne
Just read bgzgd's post about doors actuating the floor switches, and come over to see this! Thanks. This will get put to use immediately in my base.
