Just tried, still an issue. It contains 0kg water at 120 degrees. Could use abissalyte pipes, but still its too weird

UPD. nope, abissalyte pipe broke immediately.

use oil instead of water

The problem that I'm facing is that if I don't use it for some time the water will freeze...

The cold biome is a godsend for stuff like this, innit? But I've had the same issue with water freezing in the pipes and breaking them, so I had to work out another solution. I wound up building a water pump outside the cold biome and hooked it up through an Automation mechanism to send exactly 400 Kg of water to the Metal Refinery each time I needed to produce some metal. Maybe not the most elegant solution, but at least it solved the problem.

Unfortunately, the cold biome didn't do much to siphon heat from the coolant, so I'll need to rethink where to refine metal.

I have 4 of them 3 tiles near to each other. Made of Igneous Rock. The interesting fact is,  that steam only appears, when i make iron! With gold never happened it. If i produce gold. i can make 2000 kilo  per station and all is fine. With iron i can make maybe 200 kilogram.... hmm.

Let's see...

15357.75 kJ added to liquid for gold.
67118.765 kJ added to liquid for iron.

Sounds about right.

it´s still broken isn´t it?

Edit: Well, I´ve done some testing... (if anyone knows some better, or previous, testing, please tell me)

Yes, it is broken. XD

From what I can see, if dupes start another batch of metal BEFORE the OUTPUT storage is empty, it will ADD the temperatures of both batches (I think, or, at least, pretty close).

So, BEFORE starting a new batch, you have to make sure the OUTPUT storage is EMPTY.

I´ve done this using a valve (INPUT) set to 4000 g/s. This gives time for the OUTPUT storage to empty and also accounts for the night. Otherwise, the INPUT storage can get double the amount at night and dupes can make 2 batches on a row.

Edit 2: mmmmhh, OR! You can set a shutoff at night! (finally some use, even if it is a bug)

Edit 3: WTF! It worked for a few 10´s of cycles (so I posted). BUT, being EA and all, I went and let it run for a few more... No surprise here, it doesn´t work anymore. (who would have guessed?). Now, the interesting thing is. sometimes it adds the tempreatures, sometimes it OUTPUTS AT THE SAME TEMPERATURE OF THE INPUT.

Well, it was fun (not). I´m done testing. I guess someone will post when it is fixed... I hope?

Now i build the metal refinery in my water tank. If steam appears... who cares ? :D The first time it happens, my plastic ladders are molten :o
