The Plum Gate
So I went to building my water basin and digging out unwanted tiles - building needed ones, and my whole colony came down with hypothermia. I haven't had this problem before - it hasn't happened since, but it seems like water in the starting biome is a rather potent chill factor. GreatGameDota
Yea I've noticed that it seems dupes get hypothermia easier, just be is a cold biome for a wee bit. Botaxalim
Yep, water 20c on starting area have fast heat loss, if ur dupe work underwater a while, Soggy feet, chilly surounding, hypohermia, add holidng breath debuff , every one stress Good addition challenge for early game but kinda hard for new player Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/82394-anyone-else-having-hypothermia-issues/#findComment-958279 Share on other sites
SusanMcO
It is definitely more sensitive now than it was before. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/82394-anyone-else-having-hypothermia-issues/#findComment-958314 Share on other sites
Lifegrow
Get used to using F4 (thermal comfort) a lot more it seems. Although hypothermia isn't the worst of issues, it can certainly slow down your entire colony if quite a few dupes get it... It also seriously buggers up your chefs Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/82394-anyone-else-having-hypothermia-issues/#findComment-958325 Share on other sites
Kasuha
Water always used to be a significant chill factor. It just seems to me that duplicants catch hypothermia much easier now. I got a bunch of them sick building just a few buildings in ice biome on a platform covered with thin layer of water, less than 1 kg per tile. I've gone through a couple of bouts of it now - the colder the water, the faster it hits too. 2 hours ago, Kasuha said: Water always used to be a significant chill factor. Water is even harder to spot on floors made of airflow tiles - thank goodness they changed the visibility of gasses back. I'm not complaining in any way - cold water is cold, lol. Is anyone else noticing that chlorine - even in the purple / warm biome is not triggering the heat alert - only hydrogen. Seems as long as you stay out of hydrogen, things aren't actually as hot. Now CO2 can build up in tunnels and cause the heat trigger there, but I haven't had any heat stroke issues when staying in the chlorine... this is a nice change actually. Something got tweaked on the temperature sensitivity scale - I'm inclined to believe this is on account of the new exosuit system. I was previously having dupes complain about hot temperatures when in the suits - I wasn't sure if that was a bug or what. Krafkalasch
You won't get heat stroke in chlorine because it has a very low heat transfer coefficient (you can see it under details when you select a chlorine tile) For Gases Hydrogen has the highest so that explains the higher possibility of heat strokes when your dupes are inside hydrogen Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/82394-anyone-else-having-hypothermia-issues/#findComment-958361 Share on other sites
