Question about Set Pieces

Recommended Posts

Without changing the codes and only increasing boons how many "Major" set pieces can spawn in a world? By Major i mean Reed Traps/Tallbird Fort/Hound Fortress etc. I ask because for around three days now I've been trying to get a good world for a megabase and I've noticed that if i get one of the Major set pieces to spawn i seem to never get one of the other two, is that how it works? i'd like to know what other more older experienced players have seen because if it is indeed the case it would save me a whole lot of trouble trying to get for example a Reed Trap and Tallbird fort to spawn in the same world without using the console(i consider it cheating lol)

Thanks!

You can have multiple major set pieces on standard world gens, but Joeshmocoolstuff's Set Piece Config mod is probably what you need.

Among other things you can configure it so you have ~100% reed trap chance on world gen.

Otherwise yes, piling up probabilities, have fun rerolling until trap-4mactusks-rockyland-whatever..

Since you are going to keep trying to get some specific combo of set pieces, I suggest you either change the codes (to be sure you are getting at least one of those setpieces) or use the mod that @BluesyBuesy created called Set Piece Configuration. I don´t know the answer to your question, but I have seen a world "naturally" generated with reed trap, 3 tusks and tall fort.

Tried his Mod Set Piece Config, it doesn't guarantee a 100% spawn chance for reed trap, I tried 20 times only less than half had reed traps so i just forego it.

EDIT:

Scratch that, i was actually not using his mod the entire time..... i got so used to how the Client Mods work that i didn't enable the mod when i was generating a world lol.

Yup his mod works great and is a life saver thank you for suggesting it.

Is three-tusks a set piece? It seems too big and way too variable for that term, but not sure what else to call it, since it's not exactly a biome either.

Yes the 3 MacTusk camps is a set piece. It is called a MacTusk Village in the game files, you can find set pieces in the don't starve directory under data/scripts/map/static_layouts . There is also a MacTusk City Which spawns a boat load of MacTusks but Ive never seen it besides when i used mods to increase the likelihood.

it was Don't Starve adventure mode.

Strange, There game files for it are still there, well I guess that there are commented quotes for the machetes in the speech files for the characters and the teleportato files are still in there, Maybe shipwrecked is planned for DST or they just haven't had time to take it out.
