viscoos Posted February 18, 2017 Share Posted February 18, 2017 Great game, love the foundation of the game. Here are a couple of suggestions that i wish could be implemented in the game. I'm sure some of these have been suggested. 1. Make a way to highlight specific tile types on the map (not yet dug tiles), like finding oxelite at the beginning of the game or being able to highlight coal and other hard to find materials. 2. Be able to "auto sweep" dug object like have a menu where either you can set if a material is dug its also designated as sweep, 3. Be able to schedule duplicant work hours, they dont need to only sleep during the night because during night its just go to 4x speed and nothing much is happening. or if you want to design it as such make it auto 3x speed when no one is awake 4. when a new duplicant shows up in the new duplicant selection have a way to easier see the resident's stats. 5. When in priority overlay make num keys a hotkey to choose priority # 6. A copy tool or eyedroper tool for buildings no need to click thru the ui 7. Make airlocks upgradeable/interchangable no need to deconstruct one to build another in its place 8 hot keys for place pipes, place electrical wire. 9. Tutorial (tips) and new tech window doesn't respond to right click or esc button edit: i thought i was in the suggestion board mods please move this to right place sorry thanks! I dont like this, I want to learn the game and learn how each tile looks and explore and either I find what I need or I dont but I dont want help from the game 4. when a new duplicant shows up in the new duplicant selection have a way to easier see the resident's stats. would be nice to sice the rest of my duplicants so I know what I need, but I dont mind it as it is, again its nice that its all up to me and dont have unnecessary info, I need to know my colony and make up my mind myself 5. I think, as I get older, I prefer to have the basics explained, so I don't have to explore the interface as much. Sure, it should be completely intuitive to the average game player. There are a lot of UI elements that are better off re-used so you're not reinventing the wheel, and confusing your players. I think, for folks who don't want a tutorial, you simply ask them once, and if they say "Nah, let me die an honorable death!" you just ignore the tutorial part. It's the same for some things like fertilizer, i don't know if i don't find them when i need some because it's hard to see or because there is none around me. Lumina Posted May 22, 2017 Share Posted May 22, 2017 I guess the idea is to associate the sweep action to the dug/harvest action, so you don't have to tell dupe to dug/harvest, wait for them to do it, then tell them to sweep it, but you can tell them "dug+sweep" or "harvest+sweep" so for example, instead of coming digging something, returning doing something else, then coming back when you ask them, they could come digging, sweep the item, and do something else, it's more smooth and there is less waste of time. When I want my dupes to sweep some stuff right at that moment I just create high priority sweep task and if dug/disassemble assigned sweep I would have to cancel that prior to setting up sweep with proper priority (I know about prioritize tool but I am not certain if it always works). Also current auto sweep allows you to prioritize sweeping (noticed priority setting on storage containers?) certain materials such as contaminants and liquifiable so they don't mess your base.
