Hi!.. I have read the terms of the forum and I have really looked for mods similar to this but I haven't been able to find it ... I only ask for help with some clue as to what should be included in the mod folder and what DON'T so that at least the game doesn't crash xD

What I want to do is nothing more than to change the color of the bunnies (is this possible, right?..).

There are so many mods in the library that I really didn't know which one could help me as an example for this... I don't really need to change any of the .lua of the rabbits, I just need to understand how to make the game use the atlas I did, with the color changed, instead of the one that brings the game by default ... that's all.

I have tried adding in the mods folder a folder with the name of my mod and inside I put the following:
  • An "anim" folder inside it has only one .zip file under the name "rabbit_build", wich inside it has an "atlas-0.tex" which is identical to the original rabbit's one (in all and size) just with another color and... the same build.bin file that came by default in the rabbit_build folder of the game itself ... I know that this is probably the problem, but I don't know how I should do this correctly, besides:
I create my .png file, I converted it to .tex (with the correct size), and (along with the build file that came with the game into rabbit_build.zip) I compressed it in a .zip file manually using winrar... I guess.. this is also wrong, right? How should I get my "rabbit_build.zip" file correctly?
  • Modinfo.lua that only contains the name of the mod and those things (this is what it says):
Spoiler

-- This information tells other players more about the mod
name = "Nina Rabbit"
description = "mod for private use"
author = "Yiin_Hikari"
version = "preview version"

forumthread = ""

-- This lets other players know if your mod is out of date, update it to match the current version in the game
api_version = 6

-- Compatibility
dont_starve_compatible = true
reign_of_giants_compatible = true
shipwrecked_compatible = true

-- Can specify a custom icon for this mod!
icon_atlas = "Nina.xml"
icon = "Nina.tex"

-- Specify the priority
priority=-1

  • Modmain.lua, which I didn't know what to put in, so then for the moment is only a copy of the game's rabbit.lua (is this necessary? or I should write something different there... right?)
  • The mod icon in .tex and the .xml that corresponds to it...

That's all I though it is necessary but I know that there is something (probably something silly) that I am doing wrong, or maybe this is just not possible yet, I can't remember if I did see something like this before working or not (I mean just a reskin of a mob and nothing else) 'cuz I remember that is pretty hard to try to change build things for now (when we talk about characters or character parts) haha...

I am sorry if I don't explain myself very well, I don't participate very often in any kind of forum... thank you so much for reading! If anyone who sees this knows how I should organize this simple rabbit reskin mod and can guide me I would be very grateful!!

Kisses.

Update: I knew I was doing wrong the manner I get my zip file, I remembered I used spriter and krane before for another proyect, so after looking a lot I finally found my way to create my own .scml file of the rabbits, now I can work wwith this. I have no words to explain what happened this side of the screen but well, I wanted to let you know that I am right on my way to make this work succesfully :) Thanks for read anywway, any help is still welcome n_n

Update2: Guys/girls I have advanced so much! For a friend's idea, after getting my .zip file created correctly with the spriter, I replace it in the rabbit_build.zip of the base game, saving a copy of the original file. So I could try if this zip actually works or not, as a first step, and it worked perfectly!!

Now I will just keep looking for what I should put in the modmain.lua as minimum to make it work as a mod and not doing this kind of replacement :)
I do not know if this is necessary or not, especially as everything happened so fast... but since I had created this topic here I thought it would be nice from me to at least keep it updated :) wish me luck!

(My intention is that if it works this can stay here to help someone else, since I really didn't find information about this specifically in the forum and is pretty difficult to make if you don't know how to use krane for example)

Final Update: I made it n_n
