Skrzelik Posted December 5, 2016 Share Posted December 5, 2016 I've been trying to figure if the grass tufts/twig saplings/berry bushes are renewable in dst, and according to wiki: "Every 30–60 seconds, the portal will check for Berry Bushes, Grass Tufts, Saplings, and Flint within a 15-tile radius. If none are found, it will spawn 1-3". I've tried to test it on a new world but it didn't seem to work for me. Is this information even true ? Or are there any other methods to make them renewable. But didn't know about the portal thing and yeah, it doesn't seem like it's working. Especially since trees can be placed to take up space easily and same with their stumps which none can remove unless they can get hold of science machine or are wickerbottom, which sucks. But if you aint afraid to use mods, then theres plenty of options. For example, this mod makes most things respawn eventually: CLICKY Especially good for public, dedicated servers! I host for 22 slots at once by default, and this setting is optimal - rather than increase prefabs, it forces players to forage and hunt since monsters respawn too. Setting it to more does that? I specificly use that mod since it makes stuff like pig houses, clockworks, tentacles and stuff respawn. Nice! I used to test regrowth mods, but figured out I can easily cut down on third-party modifications. Mind you, tentacles can only be replenished by Wickerbottom. Pigs respawn as long as you have pig houses. Clockworks, oddly enough, seem to return in chess biomes, at least for me. I'm aware, but most of the time when Im hosting a server you bet top dollar that one bloke will go out of their way to destroy every pig house they can find. Plus making everything regrow naturally helps the world feel more fresh for new people who drop in! Nothing I hate more then joining a server and seeing a baron wasteland. Something of renown that comes with time, I guess - griefers used to be much more numerous when I began. So my problem with hammering pighuts is rather non-existent - we tend to move them away from the PK when our resident Webber, the Webber @Fortie, joins, but there's no hammering them just for pigskins for helmets. That's what we have pigheads for (the heads on the pikes, you know). If there really aren't any to be replenished through ruins gear, it makes sense for the admin to spawn a few in. I'm yet to see little piggies moving out and building their own dorm . That would be darn cute, to think of it.
