This a mod that revamps death in DST! You will still turn into a ghost, but your stuff will be harder to get to, and you get a cool headstone free of charge. (All expenses paid by our Queen Charlie. All hail.) - Created by @The Noon Fish and I

 

Well, what does it do?

Last Words is a mod that will, on death, cause a grave and headstone to appear rather than a Skeleton. This grave will contain all your items and some Long Pig. If it's left long enough it will turn into Bone Shards. The headstone is where the name really comes from, though. The headstone will be inscribed with either your last words (typed in chat or an inspection string) OR be customisable upon death. For example, my friend would like this to be inscribed on their headstone: "Why did god have to waste those nice ***s on some cancerous being?" - And that would be completely possible! A mod config option will determine this, though naturally it will default to your last words.

When will I be able to get my hands on this lovely thing?

Sometime. Probably this week. I hope.

Can I edit this to do some other wacky stuff?

Yep, if necessary. I also have an idea for something else, but that's a secret!

Gravestone epitaphs customised by their owners? My, you struck a goldmine. I remember working on a game translation with my team, a gorgeous thing, and that cemetery with forty tombstones, each readable... We ran an event where you could request your name on it along with our epitaph of choice as we didn't want to translate John Doe on each... They "sold" like hot buns. Yes, this thing will be wonderful. Are there sample quote strings I could take a look at?

Do you mean the long pig turns into bone shards, or the items you dropped?

Long Pig.

It would start fresh, and slowly rot. Instead of becoming rot it becomes bone shards.

Ok, good. That's what I thought but with the way you worded it, it could have meant the items.
