Strange shadow flying by firepit [bug?]

I'm not sure if it was a visual glitch or an actual feature:

During summer, I was in the savannah biome at night, during a frog rain among beefalos. We lighted a firepit and, when the light was low, we [both] saw a strange shadow fly by our firepit. I have no idea of what it was and whether it was a bug, but I'm thinking it might be something related to A New Reign.

(happened too fast, wasn't able to get a screenshot. didn't find it afterwards)

Anyone else experience this?

Are you sure it wasn't a frog flying in the air from the frog rain? Sometimes frogs just float in the air and slowly float down.

Also question if this was in summer how did frog rain occur? Did you mean the frog rain came before summer or while it was summer, cause I'm pretty sure the only way frog rain occurs is in spring.

Wait, that's right... Maybe it wasn't a frog rain? Maybe some other swarm.

Point is: I'm pretty sure it wasn't a beefalo, frog, or hound. It passed by our base sideways, was way faster than a hound and didn't have an animation for moving. Maybe it was a glitched hound, but it sure didn't look like one.

It was probably some kind of glitch. I'm posting just to ask if anyone else has seen something weird at night close to firepits.

Did that other thread about the New Reign updates uncover all the new artwork?

I'm not sure but I imagine if you have the frog rain setting up high enough it'll probably happen whenever like giants do.

Shadow hands? If one moves in the right way, they can appear just for a moment.
