People don't pick maxwell anymore as they used to.Too hard for new players, too paperish for most things. Giants? How do you even fight giants without night armor?Or try to kite them with the huge delay.

Tooth trap trails and an ice staff for solo.

I tank deerclops even while playing Maxwell :p Marbe suit + helmet and a fresh hambat.

Maxwell's really not that frail when armor's a thing.

At least not in the singleplayer. Not sure how much did armor stacking affect it.

Armor stacking works like this: The highest percentage is in effect when counting armor.

If your football helmet is at 100% and your log suit at 90% the football helmet will take damage instead. I think it's pretty bad actually, not sure if it's intended.

I think he means that in dst the armor doesnt stack, in DS it does and this could affect how fragile maxwell is by alot. And yes, it is intended.

Armor stacking in single player lets you take generally like one fifth the damage you will take in DST. In other words, compared to having a logsuit and football helmet in single player, you now take FIVE TIMES more damage.

Starved Kasad sort of confused me there, I think he got the mechanics mixed up. How it works is the game uses the damage reduction of your best defensive armor on, e.g. if you're wearing a grass suit and a football helmet, you get the reduction of a football helmet by itself, but the grass suit just shares a little of the damage so your helmet lasts longer. If you have a night armor and football helmet, you get night armor reduction, and the helmet is just to share damage to make it last longer, etc. Armor ALSO has less durability in DST, so it can break really fast- so stacking still isn't really a waste, it's just nowhere near as important as before.

In single player just a football helmet and log suit combined would have you taking 4% damage. Now you're taking 20% unless you use one of the higher tier armors like Night Armor or Marble Suit, which have penalties and higher building costs.

Ah. So it doesn't change too much for Maxwell. It still stays "Try not to tank, have healing, have good armor".

I see thanks.I heard it from someone and apparently we did got the mechanics mixed.
