Crash after start up

Recommended Posts

Welcome to the community forum; checking your logs, it looks like mods are causing the crash to happen. Can you provide us with your DxDiag.txt file

In the meantime, try Disabling all of your mods, then enable them one at a time to identify which one is causing the issue. And if that does not resolve it, go into your Steam folders for Don’t Starve Together and fully delete the contents of your game’s “Mods” folder. (Steam\SteamApps\common\Don’t Starve Together Beta\mods).

After deleting these mods, go to Steam Workshop for Don’t Starve Together and unsubscribe to these mods so they are not re-downloaded to your game.

Yes, I tried unsub to all my mods and also deleting them.

These crashes started happening after Game update 166227 got up, after it, I couldn't ever  pass the very first loading screen

Hey everyone, we will look into this, however, we will need more information from you to do so. Please post the contents of your DxDiag.txt file as well as your client_log.txt file.

Client_Log is found in Documents\Klei\DoNotStarveTogether\client_log.txt

We apologize for the delay - looking into this further. Unfortunately your graphics card (Intel G33/G31 Chipset) does not meet Don't Starve Together's minimum system requirements, which is causing the crash before the game even starts.

If you have a dedicated graphics card like an AMD Radeon or NVIDIA GeForce card installed, you will have to go into your AMD or NVIDIA Control Panel and force your dedicated GPU to launch and run Don't Starve Together instead of your integrated G33/G31 card.

If not, you may have to contact Steam Support for a possible refund due to system incompatibility.

But I don't get why it isn't compatible now. Did something change in the graphical part?

Every single time we add some new creature or character to the game it increases the memory requirements (both main memory and video memory) just a tiny bit. That's why we made our published minspecs on steam higher than what the game needed when we started early access - because we knew we'd need it before we launched. We're always trying to find ways to bring the minspec down a bit too - for example we keep the skins from bumping the memory requirements by loading them on demand - but it's diminishing returns, and runs into places where we'd have to compromise the experience for everyone to support lower end computers.
