Nick's opinion on the way friends act.

So just the other day I was playing with three friends on DST. One got off but we continued to play. When he came back he was super angry we played without him (even if he didn't specify to stop)! So I have a question if you are playing a world you enjoy and you miss 10 days how angry would you be.

10 days is ok-ish. Missing an entire season is very irritating. More than a season, especially if it's the first year of the world, and I feel like I may as well stop playing. The same applies if people kill bosses without me, if I was preparing or expecting to fight it.

I have the most reliable schedule and was the first (so far, only) one in my group to get a dedicated server, so I'm usually the host when I'm not playing on public servers. Usually when I play with friends and I'm not the host I'm jumping in on a fresh new world anyway, so it's never really come up. It's difficult to imagine missing 10-20 days of game time bothering me more than the fact that I missed out on a chance to play DST with my friends, unless I had a season-specific thing I wanted to do like MacTusk hunting and I missed the season.

To answer the question, I won't be angry at all.

BTW, what happened in game within the 10 days?

I wouldn't be angry, but 10 days is a bit long. I'd have probably stopped for the guy even if he didn't ask.

But these things happen, and you can't always expect people to stop for you.

I mean its all okay now but I thought it silly that he got upset. So i wanted to see what other people thought.
