Windy Season Wrecks Sandbags

(Sorry if there is already a thread for this, I didn't see one but I could have just missed it)

SO I got to year two, windy season comes around, and suddenly all of my sandbags basically start melting everytime there's a storm. I actually just stopped playing because of this, hoping it's a bug or something that will eventually will be fixed/changed for the better. Gathering bamboo for sandbags is honestly time consuming and annoying as hell, and on top of that when you smash sand bags with a hammer, they give no cloth back, only sand. Cloth feels pretty expensive and bamboo is used for crafting a lot of the items in game outside of sandbags. Maybe make bamboo easier to collect if sandbags are working as intended? I really don't want to play SW as is right now because of this problem.

Summary: Please make sandbags not get totally destroyed in windy season/refund some cloth when you smash them so that remaking your sandbag walls every rainy season doesn't involve spending so much time every year gathering bamboo.

I think there's no other solution, but to build new sandbags every year. I agree that the wind shouldn't knock over stuff completely. As of now it destroys all walls, trees, wild bore houses and blows stuff off from plants like grass or twigs. walls should take damage from the wind and hail though.

other than that I disagree with you that its hard to gather bamboo. a golden machete lasts very long and is also easily renewable if you've build your base on jungle turf and parrots leave you dubloons every now and then through out the entire year.

You should spend most of your time fishing with the trawl net, that's how you'll get free gold axes and shovels and also find more gold and pan flutes which are always welcome. The surplus of gold you can then invest into golden machetes and dubloons can be refined to nuggets if needed.

Overall i think it's not desirable to gamble so much at the slot machine because you maybe spend 20 dubloons or whatever and maybe get 5 flint out of it, although 20 dubloons are 6 easy nuggets which you could've invested in tools.

should you have enough fertilizers, it could also be a good idea to dig up bamboo plants and then replant. Its kinda like farming trees but the fertilization is required after every harvest. I could've totally gone for that method when the game trolled me on one of my runs and gave me like 12 golden shovels and maybe like 3 gold axes from trawl net fishing.

Actually there are some stuff that I think should be blown away/damaged, such as:

-flowers

-grass, twigs, etc.

-grass walls

-wood walls (but not as much as grass walls)

-boar houses (if they implement some stronger version of it, like stone houses)

-sails could be damaged by hail during a storm

-sand bags (didn't they use sandbags during war to protect themselves from bullets? I'd like to think hail should be stopped by sandbags in the same manner. Damaging a couple of them over time is fine to me, but you should definitely not lose all of your sandbags every season)

-etc.

And some other stuff definitely should not:

-rocks

-boar houses (if they don't implement a stronger version of it)

-stone walls and above (I mean, some stone keeps are still here today after hundred of years, why would some wind and hail break them apart?)

-etc

It's still early access, so unbalanced stuff is expected. Let us wait and see what the devs do about it, they are here on the forums, reading what we are writing! =)

its a BUG...plain and simple, even the old Crock pot/rot bug made it back so it will be fixed.

Walls can't be used in Hurricane season (as of right now) and the boar house blowing down is really weird cause why doesn't Palm leaf hut, Tent, and siesta lean-to blow down? those are MORE wind trapping then usual.

that's actually what i meant, because its believable that tree roots detach from the soil like in real life. I could totally live with much more stable versions of structures which can withstand the harsh storm or maybe even a new type of turf piece that embeds structures. So everything can be destroyed by the storm and it would only last through the season if the player puts down a new pavement like turf.

i haven't got any problems with wind, HOWEVER i've been having problems with hail on the ground being PUSHED by the wind

it simply wrecks anything it touches

thank bajeebus normal structures are un-damageable because if not hail would become even more destructive than magma rocks

klei fix this plz
