Trenix
A shaved beefalo attacked me during winter for no reason, he was shaved days ago. Is this intended or what? I never attacked him or anything. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/61906-beefalo-attacking-during-winter/ Share on other sites
VeryDead
The Beefalo are likely in mating season if that's the case. As awkward as this sounds, have you looked at their butts recently? You can tell if they're in mating season if their butts are red. As for what mating season is, if you don't have a beefalo hat on, they will aggro on you if you get too close. Or if you shave them. Trenix
Definitely no red butt or mating season. It was winter, not spring. That's why it confused me why it just randomly attacked and killed me during winter. That's why it confused me why it just randomly attacked and killed me during winter. Mind you, it is possible for Beefalo to enter mating season outside of Spring. It's just Spring where it's the most prominent. Once again, check their butts. Since the only case I recall having beefalo randomly waking up and aggroing on me is in mating season. If you're 100% certain it's not mating season, then I'm not quite certain what's happening. For good measure though, if it was your first winter, that's when I recall the first mating season outside spring happening. In DST and DS, 1st year Autumn: Not possible them to enter to mating seasonWinter: Possible to see them in early winter.Spring: Whole seasonSummer: Never 2nd year and later Autumn: Possible to see them in mating season at times.Winter: Possible to see them in mating season at times.Spring: Whole season.Summer: Never and the cycle continues. Just show me that a beefalo enters to mating season in summer and I will stop playing the game . Gingerbread
you may see no red butt cuz shaved beefalos never have red butt.. So they are tricky that they cannot be distinguished from shaved beefalo that is not in heat till u approach them. Shave beefalos in first autumn (if you really wanna shave em). If you somehow get a beefalo hat (from set pieces), wear that when shaving in spring if you want to do so (cuz beefalo wool is a nice fuel in late game and beefalos never attack to the players with beefalo hat during mating season.) or kill beefalos by second year to get horn (second year cuz let them reproduce in first year or you will end up having too few beefalos if you kill all in first year in DST. Cuz lotta players in DST so if all kills beefalos in first season, no beefalo would be around.) Mday
I have a feeling that in long summer it could happen. Before ROG beefalo goes into heat for every x days.Normally summer only last 16 days, hence by the time beefalo enter heat again it is autumn already. I am talking about default options. You are free to test. Never played in worlds for long with adjusted season timing. RalphKastro
Definitely no red butt or mating season. Mind you, it is possible for Beefalo to enter mating season outside of Spring. And IIRC, they don't present redbuttness unless they still have their fur. So if they are shaved, They won't be having red butts(but I think they still do the occasional tail wipe and all.)
