I would LOVE to be able to annotate my map.

Being able to make notes on the map would be of huge value to me.  Especially if it were in a cool, piratey script.

What most people do is place an item like a backpack, boat or a sign or something that has an icon on the map.

There isn't a mod for this as far as I know, because the way that the map is in the code doesn't really make doing stuff like that easy. However, there are mods for adding more map icons for things that don't normally have them, which covers most annotation scenarios.

lolz Someone isn't creative with mods then. Make a structure that costs one stone(so its not suspect to ignition, stick with DS logic). Make it show on the map. For SW go with one coral for the water. Done.

I usually just place signs around, on beefalo camps or wormholes, it's quite cheap anyways but we don't have this for water right now :\

Just use a mod with more icons, they show bioluminescence, supisious bubbles, skeletton etc... you can even show walls so you could technically write wathever you want in walls. "actually, i think i may start doing that lol"
