TheInBreastigator
I've gone 13 days so far with a bee box, multiple honey hams, an advanced farm plot from harassing the monkeys, a supply of silk and monster meats from a nearby spider den, and a miner's helmet, and gold tools all with a minimum amount of sailing. What am I to expect with the upcoming seasons? I have no idea what climate or seasonal changes there are or what to prepare for. I'm currently building one of the armored boats to sail around on once I get the required materials. I've been poisoned but overcame it by attacking the new venomous spider and crafting anti-venom, so far I'm having a blast with the new challenges after being a hardened vet from RoG and normal DS. How far are you and what are your experiences so far? davidfarkas94
my best was 17 days with two touchstones. Travelling is definitely key, especially beause of seeweed. I am currently trying to explore quickly while the weather is allright so I can find all the essential resourcesSo generally I think being mobile is a much better solution as most of the islands has max 2-3 different turfs Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/59748-how-long-can-you-get-away-with-playing-shipwrecked-like-a-normal-game-of-ds/#findComment-690745 Share on other sites
Devon Aster
Got to day 30 last night. I can't say I was playing much like I would on RoG, though. All I managed was a couple of chests, crockpot, and alchemy machine... which got struck by lightning just as I was attempting to place a lightning rod! Once the fires went out, I whipped up a few replacement chests and shoved everything back in. It took a little to get the crockpot back and I didn't manage a new alchemy machine before I died. You'll definitely want chests and a lightning rod. Possibly the new tropical shelter, or at least some kind of rain gear. Around day 14 or so was when I started experiencing bursts of wind gusts and hail. It will progress to actual hailstorms, with lots of wind and lightning later on. The hail/rain will quickly drive you insane by wetness, while the strikes will toast your camp, and wind will blow things into the sea. I had a thermal stone, but I can't say how much it did or didn't help. I actually had to ditch it during a storm because I was overheating, which meant I kept having to dart out to snatch it before it got blown too far away XD Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/59748-how-long-can-you-get-away-with-playing-shipwrecked-like-a-normal-game-of-ds/#findComment-690763 Share on other sites
Zinglon
I reached 65 days and got hit by volcanic bomb, one hit one dead. Beware. In summer you will desperately want thermal stones. Basically, prepare for the next season as if it were Spring in RoG. Aalda11
I haven't gotten to the spring season yet but there's a lot of rain and wetness even in "winter". Problem is my snakehat isn't completely impregnable the way raincoat or eyebrella are. And I don't think there are any tentacles or deerclops in SW? That may prove challenging come spring Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/59748-how-long-can-you-get-away-with-playing-shipwrecked-like-a-normal-game-of-ds/#findComment-691547 Share on other sites

Aalda11
be prepared for monsoon season-prepare icebox if you want to store Hail/Ice as steady supply of filler I have problem with gears. Only once in my 3 games I have found the "gear monsters" but they were huge, there were 3 of them and they seemed dangerous. Plus they were in the ocean, around a coral reef. So far it seems getting gears in this game is pretty difficult. Hekkaryk
I'm not an experienced player myself so I played with RoG disabled - and it was easy. Until I triggered volcano eruptions by picking up magma rod I was playing Willow, so fire itself wasn't a threat - that made me careless - volcano bombs really kill you with just one hit ^^' I had 2 touchstones up, but I died by second volcano bomb and a hounds raid To sum up: you want to be careful with new stuff ^^' Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/59748-how-long-can-you-get-away-with-playing-shipwrecked-like-a-normal-game-of-ds/#findComment-691652 Share on other sites
