Most frustrating death/moment

Recommended Posts

I just want to hear other people's frustration story about how they died and stuff. I recently lost my 327 days worth of progress because my game just crashed(about 1000 days total :() Also(this one makes me livid and makes me laugh at the same time) during the summer, I was spelunking in the ruins safely until that guardian killed me. I wasn't afraid to die because I had 3 touch stones active, each of which were VERY far away from my base camp. But I forgot that I was in the middle of the summer and I got killed 3 times consecutively due to overheating, not even getting a chance to get close to my base camp to fetch my thermal stone. What are your stories?

This is an old one.

Running away from the Deerclops, luring him into the Reed-Tentacle field setpiece, when I get stunned by a tentacle and so many others come that I get killed near instantly.

I don't play with touch stones (don't even remember if they existed back at that time, will check later), and still hadn't put up a Meat Effigy.

My most frustrating recent death was in a world I experimented setting hounds to lots. It gets too hardcore.

It was winter. Late at night I reached my camp after two days of work with minimum health. Getting a fire started was the first thing to do. I had rot with me. I quick click to throw some into the firepit. One click got Wilson to eat it.

And this isn't really a death, because I was playing with Compromising Survival on, but for three Autumns in a row, the Bearger spawned at the exact same time as a group of hounds did. Third time I reloaded because I wasn't going to rebuild my base again.

And pretty much every single time I forget the no-meat rule in a bunnyman village and don't make it out alive.

Worst day ever. Deerclops came and wrecked half me camp. Panflute did not work for some reason... Hound attack came the same day and triggered a mactusk camp to aggro me (don't even ask how, i dunno). I traveled north and saw a queens gathering set piece and 3 queens spawned, ran for my life. After the carnage i hammered a Goose/Moose egg and an egg broke, but the nest was still full, so i stuck around wondering why only to have mooslings to maul me. Then, beefalo killed them and i lost half the loot to the ocean. I went to make a weather pain with the feathers but i didn't have a volt goat horn (i always have one usually). I traveled all the way to the desert only to have ANOTHER hound attack almost kill me (again). I finally got the weather pain only to have it to randomly go off and destroy 2 lean-tos and a tent I JUST MADE. Honest-to-god this happened.

Note: chester died literally 3 times during all this. Your stories ain't **** compared to mine. Rip my sanity irl

Moslings are the worst. Just throwing this out there.

Oh, oh. Forgot an important one.

Having to move on to another world after an update comes. WHAT DO YOU MEAN I HAVE TO LEAVE MY GNOME IF I WANT TO GRAB MORE USEFUL STUFF WITH ME?

I have issues parting with stuff.

Not really a death (mostly), but...

:'c

If you're serious and survived, then.....wow.....

Oh, I remember one where I got to go into the caves for the second time in playing DS. It was with Wickerbottom and I was completely focussed on getting the lantern. It took me ages to find a second bulb, but I was so excited when I got it that I promptly created the necessary ropes to craft it. But I didn't get the "all ingredients" notification and when I looked I realized/remembered that, yeah, I still needed to prototype it at a machine. So I planned to head back to camp when I saw my torch getting low so I wanted to create a new one... only to realize I'd just used all my grass on rope.

Kinda killed the excitement. And me with it.

Overheating. That's frustrating, especially when everything you carried in your pack is a good long way from where the touchstone revived you.

And sadly, the Koalaphant because I neglected to actually put on the life-giving amulet. And the hounds, I hate the hounds most of all.

So, I'm surviving through winter, haven't had much trouble, finally got my walls up and the camp is looking pretty good if I do say so myself. So I tab out to check something for... 5 mins? When I get back guess who paid me a little visit while I was gone? Deerclops.

My most recent Don't Starve Together experience: Joined a public Endless Mode server as Webber. There were absolutely no flints around and it was the first or second day of winter. And the host hadn't even put down a fire pit near the portal so I died to Charlie on the second night. I resurrected myself and kept looking for flints so I could make an axe to get some wood and start a fire; I didn't find any and I had to set the whole forest on fire just to stay warm. That only delayed the inevitable, though, and eventually I ran out of stuff to burn and froze to death several times. I gave up and left from sheer frustration when my max health hit rock bottom.

I didn't lose much, but it was very, very irritating.

I died because someone (yet to be determined) in my house decided to unpause my game while I went to go see who was at the door outside. I was in Winter and I froze.

Something like that happened to me as well... I was in adventure mode, that only-night stage and thought my game was lost anyway, so I left it unpaused, went have a snack...

Well, I didn't know the game would go back to sandbox right away, I thought would be a dialog just like sandbox "you survived X days OK". I was sure it had... tsc tsc, mistakes, mistakes

600+ days lost, my empire T_T
