Shiprekt death

Shipwrecked wouldn't be shipwrecked without the possibility to wreck your ship in one way or another. Drowning might be possible too I'm guessing which will probably be one of the deaths you really wouldn't want to happen to you as when you respawn, you can't just go back and take your items, it'll all probably need to be fished out and you'd need to get a new boat or somrthing to get to them. Though, I was thinking about dying from the shipwreck and not the drowning that goes into the process. Perhaps, on a windy day if when it's windy and the windy is blowing sideways to you, it could move you sideways and if you happen to hit a boulder in the water, well there's a shipwreck death for you. Another way could be if you take the advantage of the speed boost whilst you go with the wind and if you hit a boulder then that's another way to get shiprekt.

I guess it would technically be insta death, however insta deaths is what might make the game challenging even hard for professionals and make you be extra careful about stuff whilst you're trying your best to survive.

So, what do you think? Would shipwreck, or shiprek deaths be in shipwrecked DLC?

Well the demo shows that ships have health, so I assume you drown once your ship breaks. Each crash into a boulder or opposite wave would probably take away a chunk of ship health. There's also a life jacket I saw in the nautical tab, so I assume that it will let you swim to shore if you're wearing it.

I wonder if swimming is possible for characters, if not advisable as a way to cross between islands.

For instance, if you're carrying a lot of items you might be forced to drop them.

Similarly, Diving as a means to recover items dropped at sea or find sunken treasure would be pretty neat.

(Just don't pull the plug at the bottom of the sea.)
