darkAssassin345 Posted September 12, 2015 Share Posted September 12, 2015 Ok so I understand that the whole point of the game is to survive but I am struggling to find other stuff to do other Tha collect food, add to my base eg plant more trees add roads and just more of everything. Stuff like destroying bee hives to get a bee place so you can harvest honey and exploring the whole map. I am wondering what everyone finds fun later game. Eg prototyping every item, adventure portal. I'm sure you get the point. So what is everyone's ideas on fun stuff to do. They're a whole new and extensive extra layer of content. Third off, making stuff fight other stuff. I personally enjoy having a lot of Spider Queens in an area, then buying the allegiance of a lot of spiders to attack them. Same can be done with a Tier 3 den, and both means result in spider civil war. You can also do something like Deerclops vs Treeguards. Fourth off, hunt for the uncraftable items, like Krampus Sack, Tam O' Shanter and such. Fifth off, raising a Smallbird to Tallbird. Parenting is so beautiful <3 Basebuilding is also a lot of fun, at least for me, and just surviving for as long as I can is amazing, but we've all got to understand that the point of "nothing else to do" will be hit, and that's why new content is necessary. You can get much more creative than what I've listed, maybe even throw some mods in, Up & Away and Hero in the Dark are amazing for those purposes. Whenever you feel like you really, really have nothing else to do... Just watch a Gnome watching you. It's cathartic. And creepy. I'm just kidding but a lot of what others have said and more. I made a living log farm by planting 24 birchnut trees in a square then surrounded them with 6 pig houses( I still need to add 2 more). Tested a mole farm, trapped a varg in a pen and then built 8 bunny huts a screen way. Lots of gems, hound's tooth and monster meat not that I need any of that. I am planning to make some kind of turret defense with Houndious shootius to kill giants efficiently. I am yet to make fire farms - have seen some of them but dunno a lot of gears really. BUILD more bases. Have you tried living in the caves for a whole year?. Ruin base is still on my list. And I have failed to kill dragon fly with an old bell need to find a way to do that. Edit: I am still learning how to kill an ancient guardian with only a melee weapon.(died 3 times in less than 3 minutes. My base stocked up to the brim. over 100 honey 9 honey poultice. over 40 logs, 7 pig skin, 20 ropes and I got killed because summer came right after getting killed the second time and hounds started chasing me - died from overheating as I was running to my base. As you work your way throughout the challenge, even if you want to clear all the giants yourself, you'll find yourself at a point in which too many giants spawned on-screen and they'll start killing themselves in front of you. In a few days, this challenge becomes no challenge.
