miketh2005
This can be a suggestion for Don't Starve, but it will be even more fun and suitable for DST. Gargantuan Constructs are large projects that take days to build. There should be a suitable amount of projects ranging in difficulty from being able to be built in perhaps a week (in game), to a perhaps around 2 years. This should be considered content you can work at whenever you want, like adding pennies to a coin jar, there is no rush, but you feel like you are contributing to something bigger, like the feeling you get when you help Kickstart a game. This adds some structured play to a game that can get a bit repetitive or rote for experienced players and something you can work on when you have some time, perhaps when you are prepared for winter, etc.. I haven't thought of what these constructs would do, but anyone can come up with ideas for it. Auth
The branium construct - Adds every blueprint achieveable from all objects (except ancient) from one machine. TheShankingTurtle
what if the teleportato had more parts? Four seems like an awfully small amount for something so important (on the flip side, if you are teleportato rushing then it would be harder to achieve). OR, what if there was a new teleportato-like thing, where it would take you to different worlds, but harder? One could be a survival island where you have to survive to a certain day, then you get moved to the next world (Is it possible? I'm sure). Another could be a world thats in the ruins that is forever locked on the nightmare stage, and you have to get the pieces (Or new pieces) and make the structure. What if it teleported you to a ruined world that you had to fix up, a la De Blob or Super Mario Sunshine? When you fix it up the residents come back maybe. Asparagus
"Building" on what you said (ZING! not really... ok... O__O), a long-term project to be done in DS/DST would be most plausible in the Ruins since gargantuan structures are kinda along their lines... you could imagine The Tower of Babylon though if it's in the surface... Imagine, building a tower to get to the heavens or in this case, it's a way out of this world or to another world... there was this "space" biome suggestion before... I'll just finish with that... ok... O__O Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/53287-gargantuan-constructs/#findComment-633035 Share on other sites

Never played either of those games, so i can't make the comparison. How would you fix it up though? Everyone has different ideas of a perfect world. You should at least play SMS, it is highly rated and very fun, unique gameplay you won't find anywhere else. =P I don't know if hovering over something and adding items to it is within the Don't Starve theme. It hasn't been done before, but this is how I imagine it. Something more in line with what Don't Starve does currently is creating parts instead from an alchemy machine and inserting the parts into the construct, like the teleportato I guess. The old broken down and dirty constructs (that look like they haven't been touched in many many years) would be littered over this area you need to fix up. I can see the biome changing more after each construct is built, from ancient / dirty / unpolished to more modern or clean. Fixed up.
