TheHomeChicken
Ive seen the term "kiting" used a lot when describing combat. Since I'm about to go face some beefaloes, and after inspecting the wiki it said, "they are easy to kite", I would like to know.
acidsatan
Constantly keeping a safe distance from your opponent, so that you can easily keep shooting him from a distance. Opponent closes up to you, you run away, shoot. Rinse and repeat.
DragonSpider
basically running around with it chasing you and getting hits in between enemy attacks after you dodge.
Bogpad
just keep in mind that if you want to go for beefalo, you want to find the one that is running around alone, not near the protection of the herd.

They all started charging me, but since they take so long to attack, you can outrun them and essentially "kite" (YEAH I LEARNED SOMETHING GET ON MY LEVEL. *cough* Excuse me..) the beefalo easily. However, i accidently attacked a second one while they were all charging me, so when they all left me alone, i still had to deal with two. They took my logsuit down to 5% from 100%, and my health was about halfway depleted, but i did it :] So much meat now though.

Diezen
Well if you're good at kiting you can kill spiders in a small area like here... This was prepatch before jumping spiders, I destroyed about 9 level 3 spider dens.

Diezen
Actually there were probably two times more meat, but some of the spiders decided to deaggro and eat some, and while I was doing this hounds also came and ate some of the meat... Captain Potato
kiting is basically hitting and moving just out of range of the enemy attack then moving back in to strike it. Repeat process
