DcruzerX
Hi Dont Starve players, I recently started playing on dedicated servers, and I noticed a particular griefer that keeps appearing and doing what he does best. Is there somewhere I can report to Klei this user and get a ban on this person? Of course I have taken screenshots, but is it enough? BravePotato
Why ban them? They doing things the game allowed them (and you allowed them too, by playing with stranger). They don't cheat or hack! Some of them are nature-born griefer, some are just doing one or two time just for fun. Could you tell the different between them? You can't steal the-right-to-play from another player. It is like you life imprisonment another human being because they going around and steal stuff. It just too unfair. Sorry for seem-to-be-offensive-post (but actually not ). rezecib
@DcruzerX, Regardless of the morality of the situation, Klei has stated they do not intend to police in-game behavior (they currently only police server names that are offensive). So griefers are an unfortunate reality of the Klei dedicated servers. I'd recommend hosting your own, or making some friends in the dedicated server and splitting off into other servers with them. The key thing is to have a server where there is someone who can administer it by rolling back griefing episodes (e.g. with c_rollback() on the console) and kicking/banning the offenders. Bahlsen
@Coski, she wore a skirt, she deserved to be raped. I hope you guys are trolling, even if I agree that a permanent ban is too much. What would be your take on a 1 week, 2 weeks ban ? Don't get me wrong, I'd rather have positive solutions like the one I suggested, but you can't just reverse the guilt like that. Some people put money, time and energy just to ruin other players' experience, hours of game ruined in five minutes, players who just want to have fun, it's not as if you destroyed a GMO field because of your political convictions. I'm talking about dedicated servers by the way, as I already said kick ban rollback on other servers seem enough to me. RalphKastro
Although I do not like griefers invading my server, I don't think a perma ban on the game they bought would be very fair just because they love destroying stuff. Heck, even I sometimes(very rarely, due to time constraints) invade a server and start to raid bases and set fire to their forests(although I only do it on PvP servers and make my intentions clear very early). Other times I can be very cooperative, trying to help out build bases and shelter newcomers. Should I be banned from playing on any servers? Also, monitoring game based interactions is just terrible. I don't want to waste The Devs' time on deciding if they should ban people, or having to create a system for it, and them having all the trouble of fixing it when people abuse it or it bugs out and starts banning people randomly. The greatest Dev intervention I would actually support would be some kind reputation system, possibly related to that "Recent Encounters" thing that's still in the works. People could report or honor(with a more DS-ish language, though) people and they would get a reputation based on that, like "Shady" or "Notorious" or "Helpful" that would either appear on the tab thing or upon examining the character.
