Zillvr Posted December 23, 2014 Share Posted December 23, 2014 Simple answer, no. You don't need to own Don't Starve to play Don't Starve Together. As far as I've known, heard and read, they will be separate games* in your library indefinitely. So if you give your friend an extra key, they can play Don't Starve Together with you even if he/she doesn't have their own copy of Don't Starve. Hope that answers your question.
