Antr4cite
On every green biome (starter biome) create one apple tree that drops apples and works like the science machine. - reference to Isaac Newton apple incident"Newton himself often told the story that he was inspired to formulate his theory of gravitation by watching the fall of an apple from a tree." - WikipediaThe tree would work like a reflexion/inspiration/idea spot.Instead of research points the character could spend experience points, obtained on actions like chopping a tree, exploring, analize items (use items on the apple tree), find new locations, etc.Like other trees it could be chopped and planted but with more work (giving apples to caged birds to get the seeds). MilleniumCount
Do you refer to the tree of knowledge? And another question..why?
Antr4cite
Do you refer to the tree of knowledge? And another question..why?Kinda. It's a reference to Isaac Newton apple incident:"Newton himself often told the story that he was inspired to formulate his theory of gravitation by watching the fall of an apple from a tree." - WikipediaTop Edited December 18, 2012 by Antr4cite
McMatthew
Yeah but once he had come up with the theory of gravity, he didn't use the tree to research a bee mine and a crock pot. Interesting idea though.

ScienceMachine
It's a silly idea, in a good way. But please don't repeat yourself xD

Chesska
This isn't a very flexible idea and it doesn't have much utility.Forcing the player to trudge back to one spot every time they want to do something?Seems a bit much.

At least with his idea, there might be several of these scattered throughout the world...

It's even cheaper than what we currently have and you could plant it everywhere you can plant a tree.Like other trees it could be chopped and planted but with more work (giving apples to caged birds to get the seeds). Ora
Seeing as Einstein's theory of general relativity pretty much blew Newtonian physics out of the water, I don't like your reference. I also think this is a silly idea, regardless of the reference. There is also the fact that the whole research points system is going out the window pretty Soon, so says Kevin.
