(Just in case the title is too long and isn't visible)

How did you find about DS, and on which platform do you play?

Just what the title asks. You can also say when you started playing and how many hours you have spent on the game.

I found out about the game via youtube, as I watched a 9-part lets play. (Markipliers, if you want to know). It was about an year ago, and I instantly fell in love with the games artstyle. It's simple looking graphics, characters speaking through instruments, etc. But I didn't buy it till early this year. At first I had it on my PC.

As soon as I found about the vita version, I couldn't wait. As it finally was released, it was a day one purchase. Got the PS4 version with it, and bought ROG on PS4 too. This caused me to move away from the PC version, as my computer is kind of bad, and sometimes has horrible framerate during gameplay, and I also don't use mods really much. The only thing I miss about the PC version are more world options and how I can just unlock Wes and Maxwell with commands. I try to play games for fun. Not to play through 5 difficult worlds to unlock 1 (2, if I'm lucky with the order of the worlds) character. Still trying to do it though.

Nowadays, I mostly play on the Vita. Mostly because of portability. I might start playing more on PC when DST is finally out.

How about you?

Back in December, 2012, when the land in Don't Starve was a series of really round islands connected by long land bridges, I watched Etho play the game on his Youtube channel. I liked what I saw, so I bought it, played it, and I'm still playing it after two years. What makes Don't Starve extra special for me is being able to watch it develop from those early days into the game that it is today.

:lotsastuff:

A long time ago I had discovered a game while browsing the Google Chrome webstore. It looked really intriguing to me, and even though the style was slightly creepy, it had really appealed to me. Alas, when I had tried to play it, I realized my PC wasn't good enough to handle it.

Years later, I was browsing a forum and I happened to come across a familiar profile picture; it was in the same style as the game I had found so long ago. By that time I had acquired a better computer, and so I was determined to find this game once more. I searched for a very long time, and was about to give up at several points, but when it all started to seem hopeless, I finally managed to dig it up; it was Don't Starve, a name I probably would have never guessed on my own. (it's worth to mention that all I had for a clue was a very small drawing, so it was rather difficult).

That is how I discovered and re-discovered Don't Starve, and I am so very happy that I did.

A friend of mine plays Don't Starve and writes a fanfic of it (in our native language though). Like Anvil and W, curiosity got the best of me but mine is about why does she seem to make it so scary (she features Hound attacks, Nightmare Fuel farming, and such).

Found out through watching a youtube series by Sips. Fell in love with the game instantly and have been hooked ever since. :-)

Found out the same way I almost always find out about cool games; my brother, who was playing it one day. I sat next to him and watched him play for a couple of minutes before I was convinced.

To this day, my brother does not play anymore, and I've become a pretty regular DS player
