@mrfreeze709,

The DST keys right now are a code like xxx-xxxx-xxx etc  You get numbers and letters and you copy and paste them into steam and activate it there. Under "games"  then click "Activate a product on steam"

If you get the DST keys there is nothing on the forums to redeem. As I said already, you redeem in steam. Hope that clarifies things.

This has great information on trading safely. A key point is letting the DST key person go first. Because they received it for free to begin with. They don't lose as much.

Just posted that quickly for you, so you know.  I also want to add, shortly after Dec. 15 they plan on selling the keys in the "frontier pack" its a great deal if you already own Don't Starve, it will be $5 dollars for 2 beta keys. Mind you, you will get DST for free when its finally ready to be released. (Just saying for anyone reading). But it will be safer, as well as cheaper. :-) - Adding: I believe the keys will be physical on steam, so you can trade them. They won't just be codes. More information here: http://forums.kleientertainment.com/topic/44729-dont-starve-together-roadmap/

There are ways to win them for free. The best way I like to suggest is going to their twitch stream. http://www.twitch.tv/kleientertainment at every Thursdays 3:30 pm PST! I have more information in my signature link, if you need.

Also, when posting you just need to click once. :-) Sometimes it doesn't send right away, and clicking multiple times makes it post a bunch, so just click once and wait. :-)  Just saying cause I'm not sure if you noticed but you made a ton of topics ^^

Hope this helped.

Edit: If you gave him your items already, and there was no code for steam. Then I'm sorry you got scammed :(

you probably got scammed, although I'm not sure.

Edit: If you got the codes, so the chances of you being scammed are very low, though. Just follow @Hellkitty's great instructions.

Sorry, dude, I don't think there's anything you can do to get those keys back, as there's no way to redeem things for a code. Only thing I can suggest you do is file a ticket with Steam Support, submit a well-worded response, and perhaps they'll give you back the keys (but not the same ones), though I don't know if Support will give back keys (items of relatively low value).

Other than that, only other thing I can suggest is just to be careful. Business is dirty (even on the internet), and scammers are everywhere on Steam.
