Random Gold?

Happened quite a few times, have no idea why!

Keep finding random gold scattered around, sometimes near spider dens.

Any ideas?

Every world you spawn has a change of containing some gold near spider dens or graveyards. From what I understand it is meant to be a reward for exploring a semi dangerous area.

Gold is randomly scattered around on the ground of graveyards or concentrations of spider nests in swamp afaik.

lol, i had that same feeling on the first time i played this game. I saw a drum stick and a morsel lying in the swamp. Before i picked it up i remember feeling like it was a tra... ow a tentacle just hit me.

I found some gold between 5 spider eggs. I thought "Yeah free gold...wait..this is a trap, if I pick this up the spiders are going to kill me", but nothing happend.
