My opinion about KLEI's concept Krampus

I don't know how old this stuff is but I don't really care, from all I looked through this picture impressed me the most: krampus-silhouettes.jpg

 

It is small, but at full size it says that there's concept art of Krampus. What I like about this picture is that nearly all Krampuses (do not know plural form of Krampus, but whis will do) are bigger than Wilson and the last one is about as big as the deerclops.  Man, I really would like to see that one in a game, it looks much more threatening than the one we have right now! And some people say that size don't matter  :friendly_wink:It could even be one of the giants!

I believe the plural is 'krampi'. Anywho, I agree that Klei went with next to the worst possible design they could have chosen for Krampus.

I like the Krampus we have right now. Besides they spawn 2 - 3 at a time. And it's only 1% chance you'll get the sack, looking at how rarely you'll get him.

Mhm. -everything- is wrong with him:

 

His AI is broken

He's easily avoidable

His sounds and appearance are comical and adorable, rather than frightening

He's far too weak.

 

Want to know how his AI is broken?

They put a massive delay between stealing things. All he does is stand in one spot licking the air and occasionally steals ONE item with a half a minute delay. All he does is stand in spot, and he's an easy kill. Just pathetic.

 

I made a mod to fix his AI and strength, but he's still doomed in my books without a much larger change.

 

I love you Klei, but Krampus is just so ****ing bad in every way. Unlike Chester. Chester is the best.

I guess none of the demonic spawns in the concept art fits the current thief-like profile.

 

Though it's not going to happen, I wish Klei can implement them all, so when you kill Glommer, all 12 of them will spawn and beat the sunshine out of you.

I would love for Krampus to be scary.  I was afraid of him at first cuz I'd never fought him, but then I accidentally murdered Glommer (I'm still new to RoG and i didn't know to get the frick AWAY from Glommer in any form of combat, so of course in the middle of a hound wave Wilson decides to target Glommer. And holy crap does he go down easy.) and then I was panicking because there's still a few hounds left and now Krampus is here.  but then he didn't attack while I cleared up the hounds, so all I had to do was run him down, which was mildly annoying, and then hit him like four times.  Now I'm honestly considering repeatedly slaughtering Glommer to try and get Krampus' sack, cuz the fear is gone.

 

(Yes I realize contemplating deliberate Glommer murder makes me a horrible horrible person, I'm pretty sure I can't actually do it.)
