tommy Posted December 12, 2012 Share Posted December 12, 2012 so currently im on day 12 after i was killed on day 21 by a pig.now i currently have a little camp in a field area next to about 4 rabbit holes so that i have some food to fall back on.ive been doing a bit of exploring and im trying to get a berry farm going for some extra food income.ive found a graveyard and ive been collecting all the miscellaneous items from them.now my questions are:what are these items used for other than research i.e: kazoo,gnome, etc.?and also i have found a pig king and when i gave him a morsel he gave me gold.is gold the only thing he gives you?and what should i be working on to survive for the long run?thanks. First, the items kazoo, gnome and other items that you get from graves have no actual purpose except for researching with yet. There is one item though that you should keep, the amulet. The amulet can be equipped and upon death you will be revived.secondly, so far all i've been given by the pig king is gold. Doesn't seem like the king gives you anything else. You should just keep your food and either eat it yourself or give it to the regular pigs, so they join your "entourage" and help you fight or even chop trees.thirdly, it is recommended to start a small farm or something, if you are close to some beefalo's since their poo is really good to use while farming. Otherwise you can try making bird traps or maybe even try finding a swamp and start fishing (fishing rod only works in swamps)Something else you could try to survive easier is setting up some bee mines or getting yourself a pig around, so they can help you kill incoming hounds and stuff. Marak Posted December 12, 2012 Share Posted December 12, 2012 Personally, I find the game is much easier long-term once you have 4-6 Speedy (or better, Turbo) Farm Plots and at least one Crock Pot. A couple of Bee Boxes will really seal the deal: Honey Ham (2x Honey, 2x Monster/Normal Meat) is simply amazing and you should stockpile as much of it as you can.As long as you can keep startling birds for Seeds (or cage a few for even MORE Seeds), you can really keep yourself up and running food-wise, allowing you to concentrate on other things (exploring, gear, hats, etc). themastadon85 Posted December 12, 2012 Share Posted December 12, 2012 Yah, caging a bird and feeding him a plant (for example a pumpkin, which is a good plant for food) he will drop some pumpkin seeds, do it a few times and you should be able to make an infinite pumpkin farm. Stuffed Eggplant is amazing (60 Hunger, 40 Health or thereabouts) and super easy to make - all you need is Eggplant, a Carrot, and 2x Monster Meat. All easy-to-acquire ingredients, combined into some seriously "powerful" food. I think its a little better than the honey ham too.
