Shadowfall - The Blade of Souls

[MenaAthena]

White glanced over at her shoulder and sighed.

"Yeah, some more medical supplies would be good."

She walked over to the pile and started putting it together. 

[Blewcheese]

Joseph floats up to each trap, admiring them and checking for game. When he did find some, he levitated it out and held it by the ears.

[Will]

"I think that's all the traps. We got a fair bit. Let's head back."

Joseph and Will walk back into camp, with 5 rabbits in hand.

"We're going to have a nice dinner tonight. With what we already have, these rabbits will give us an extra piece of food, each. 2 morsels and 2 handfuls of berries each."

[Blewcheese]

"Are you certain a feast is wise? With winter coming, food should be more scarce."

[Will]

"Oh, we have enough food. After what we'd have tonight, we'd have 15 morsels, 13 handfuls of berries, and 7 carrots left. Not to mention the traps will keep a flow of food coming our way."

As the sun already begins to set, Will lights the fire and gets the food cooking.

"Besides, a full stomach will help us get ready for the challenges ahead of us. Going through that door, the other side of it is worse than here."

[MenaAthena]

(I bet it's killing Battal not being able to roleplay in his own roleplay.)

[Battal]

(It is, so please continue so I can bring my char in.)

[MenaAthena]

(I don't really know what to say...

What exactly are you waiting for? Can't you just make your character pop up now?)

[Blewcheese]

"Yes... About that door... To what extent would it not allow you to bring items? Surely it allows our clothes."

[Will]

"It'll take you, the clothes on your back, and for some people, it'll take their special item. So, I'd wager it'll take your sword, my dagger, and Violet's sabre. We won't need to worry about winter gear, the door won't take that much clothing. When we cross over, all of our injuries will heal, we'll be full, and our mental state will be fixed. The only reason we're waiting for you, White, to recover, is so you don't die on the way. If you do, I have no idea what will happen to you."

[MenaAthena]

"Oh joy." White replied sarcastically. "So let me get this straight. We're going to find a door. Go through said door, and race someone to a thrown or something for... reasons. And the building is going to somehow be worse than this hell hole?"

[Blewcheese]

"Worse?" Joseph laughed sadistically. "You haven't seen much, I promise you."

[MenaAthena]

The color flushed from Whites face, or at least it would have if her skin had any color to begin with.

"You're telling me there's worse that what did this?!" White exclaimed while motioning to her shoulder. "Oh, kill me now."

[Blewcheese]

Joseph's eyes glistened with some sort of twisted amusement as he gestured at his lack of legs. "If this didn't clue you off, I don't know what would."

[MenaAthena]

​White swiftly walked away while repeating "Nope" over and over again.

 

White's eyes went wide and she produced a barely audible gulp. She 'calmly' walked over to a spot where Will was standing between her and Joseph.

[Will]

"Well, it's not a building. We're going to be transported to a new world that is, for the most part, the same as this one. The worse part, though, is that we'll face a challenge. There will be five worlds we will have to go through, each with its own challenge. I have no idea what challenge each world will give us for sure, but I know some that we might face. A world in endless winter, a world with faster moving seasons, a a world separated in good and evil, and a world of pure darkness. Those are the four I know that we might face. We could very easily be surprised. There's no order to it. We have to be ready for anything."

[MenaAthena]

"A door that is a portal between dimensions... ok then. Why are we doing this exactly? I'm not going to risk my neck just so we can get a plate of cookies." White inquired with occasional wary glances toward Joseph.

[Blewcheese]

"We have to stop some Bael person from getting to some throne at the end of those challenges. Something bad probably happens if he gets there."

[MenaAthena]

"Thank you. That was very helpful." White's sarcastic reply was accompanied by an equally sarcastic smile.

[Will]

"The very bad thing that happens is that all life ends. So that would not be good. We need to get to the throne, and from there, I can get us out. Just like last time. Then, we'll all be free. From this place, we'll all be able to go back to real world."

[Blewcheese]

"That sounds awfully familiar." Joseph chuckled, watching Will carefully. "And we'll all go back to the real world, right? No one will, I don't know, be left here to survive alone?"

[Will]

"No one of us will be left alone. Anyone who isn't with us would be left here, unable to ever escape. So when we get there, we can't get separated."

[Blewcheese]

Joseph frowned, recalling the first time he had been abandoned. Swears were hanging on the tip of his tongue, but he managed to remain silent.

[MenaAthena]

"Home?"

White glanced down at her locket. There's a way home and back to her family. Her gaze shifted to her shoulder with a scowl. And right now she was the only reason they weren't on their way yet. She wasn't going to be a burden again.

"Well let's go then!"

[Will]

"You're hilarious. We aren't going anywhere until you can travel. We don't even know where the door is. It could be really far away for all we know, and you aren't fit to go very far the way you are now. We can't risk you dying, because I have no idea what would happen then."
