The creature walked with a heavy step. It was so sure that it had found something of interest. Once more, it leaned over and opened its mauve satchel, pulling out the same cobalt stained rod that it pulled out before. It rose it high above its head, as if it was a divine power..

 

..and it let go abrubtly, as if it was backing away from a particularily hot surface.

 

The rod fell onto the area, and the creature groped for it, but seemed unable to, as if there was a huge, unbreakable bubble in its way, scalding the creature if it came close.

I slowly watch the nightmare fuel as it bubbles off to the edges of the campfire, a maniacal laugh emanating from the darkness...

"He's getting stronger" I think to myself

The rod lay in the grass, the creature unable to touch it. Now having given up to reach the blue wand, it stood up, underneath its purple goggles a mingled look of curiosity and frustration. Someone certainly lived here.. Otherwise it would be able to pick up the rod with ease..

 

The only way to enter was to get the owners attention.
