Make days a little longer?

Recommended Posts

We can fairly easily explore an entire map (default size) before the first year is over if we put enough time into it and if we are not afraid of being away from our camp at night. By that time, we can also have everything we need to survive any season or pretty much anything that is thrown at us. Making time segments longer would mean we would get stuck in a season for longer and I am unsure if it would help us explore a lot more than we already can, considering what we can accomplish already =\

With all new things on map things needed for base construction and things to survive are harder to find.

Also on all maps so far I had to travell more than in deflaut game.

So maybe change one segment time from 30 to 35 or 40 seconds.

You could always make it permanently day or change it to a certain season so days are longer and you can keep that season permanent. I dont know but thats really all i can say.

I don't mean day or night, whole days should be longer, one cycle of the clock is now 480 seconds, one segment is 30 seconds, and it could be a little longer, so far I just waste lot of time to get from one point to the other to get things like silk, food, ice, rocks, I do stuff during nights but its not enough, I wasn't able to even visit more of the swamps to get reeds or get blue feathers from birds, the points of interest were spread out over large area on all RoG maps so far.

Interesting idea. I do feel like days should be longer now. But, on the other hand, with 4 seasons it does already take a while to complete a year and play the same season again, which is very annoying when you can't find a walrus camp before the first winter ends, for example. So I'm not sure... time does seem off in RoG, but I'm not sure how to fix it.

It does add to the fact that each world is different and a player needs to live and deal with the ressources he finds. That is what makes each game different. If we are allowed to find every single ressource on the map, always, before we need it, then each game is going to be painfully similar in my opinion.

I think the days are fine enough. I can already get practically everything preperation-wise done in a single season as it is, and once you're prepared most things are pretty easy...

All the things you really need should still be roughly the same as in the normal game? Like wood, gold, and rocks for your initial base.

I'm pretty ok with days as they are, but I'd like all the seasons to be an even 20 days so it's easier to know when to expect the transition.  And like Simplex mentioned, sometimes It's hard to get the tam before winter is over if McTusk is far off.
