Adding co-op or something similar to the game would be a huge undertaking, and both Don't Starve's budget and the team working on it are too small for such an endeavor. There may be some asynchronous (sharing worlds, sending out messages, that sort of thing) multiplayer in the future, but don't expect more than that.
