exsano
Hey, so i recently got my hands on don't starve for ps4 but I have a few questionsHopefully you guys can help me 1. Can lightning hit my farms, drying rack, or chests? 2. If i stand in the middle and on one end i see lightning rod and on the other a Berry bush, does it mean its safe?3. Fire hounds set on fire everything they touches or just when they die? 4. I kup running low on stone resources and they do not regrow... what to do??5. In adventure mode i can die as much as i can without penelty, right (other than being moved to sandbox)? Thanks :):) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/30928-few-questions/ Share on other sites
Percival
1. Yes, lightning can hit farms, drying racks, and chest. The farms will burn, but I'm not sure about the racks and chests.2. I believe if it's, at most, one screen away, then it's okay.3. I would say, but you'll find out soon.4. Of course stone doesn't grow. Your best bet is to either go explore more or go to the caves.5. Yes. Just make sure there aren't monsters following you when you go into Adventure mode. Cynical Cynicist
Stone is a renewable resource because earthquakes in the caves drop it, btw. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/30928-few-questions/#findComment-404303 Share on other sites
the truthseeker
Rule of thumb: If you can burn it, so can Lightning. So Beehives yes, but Bee Boxes no. Technically, the farm Produce maybe could burn (exceptionally unlikely,) but not the farm plot. That requires a Hammer to remove. That written, grown foods found in the wild--even if transplanted and manured--can be burned, including berry bushes and carrots. And if it's a pickable or Tree of any kind, it will burn. Lightning Rods provide two screens' worth of protection from its placement (AKA "40 game units.") As for the last two questions, yes die as much as you want without permadeath in Adventure Mode but a litte time passes when you exit it to Sandbox mode, and you have plenty of Rocks, just not alll in one place. When you finally run out of rocks, it's time to go caving for renewable resources if you haven't done so earlier after you are prepared to survive down there. That is a whole topic in itself. Dr. Derpenstein
Wait a sec Mate.Sure caves Why not but How am i supposed to deal wth those cave spiders ad batilisks in and out of the cave? The real threat, for me at least, is the worms that come.....Bats die from 1 hit tentacle spike or higher tier wep. Cave spiders: Don't let them overwhelm you. I enjoy using spiderhat, lantern, and pick to handle them by "tricking" them with the hat, placing the lantern near their dens, and mining them away, so as to never have to deal with them again. Oh, and don't forget to start a spider on spider war! Silk and healing for ages m8. the truthseeker
Caving is not for the beginner player, not even for the player who has survived over 37 days or their first winter. Caving is when you are ready to deal with advanced sanity, food and combat management. And when you master that, then you can go to thei literal next level underground and do ruins. Sure technically it's doable earlier, but not recommended until you have a tam O' Shanter level sanity management item, a walking cane (that's the best way to avoid) and multiple combat weapon/armor options. Lighting is debated, but many use lanterns, miner hats and or other options/combination options. Fireflies are limited, but Light Bulbs Slurtle/Snurtle slime are not. Having a Shadow manipulator prototyped soon if not before entering isn't mandatory but (as you will soon see) very useful. And if you still need help and you've tried your darnedest with no luck, go here to read about cave strategy. Just mind the spoilers.
